Scout armor stealth nerf?
So as many may know the scout armor used to have a hidden mechanic where you could look at the map and a poi would show up when you hovered over it. This no longer seems to be working. Anyone else having the same experience?

Now the question is was that an intended feature or was it a bug. Its hard to think it was a bug because it was a specific perk you needed for it to activate. Even if it was a bug the fact it was "fixed" without a patch note is somewhat disconcerting.

Any change to balance or content needs to be listed in patch notes. Stealth changes to mechanics are a very very very bad tactic and a sure way for players to lose faith in a developer.

Now if i am wrong and it was listed please let me know.

If it was hidden then it was probably unintended. Probably just a side effect from whatever coding allows scout pings to show enemies.

It wasn't a 'scout' armor bug, it was just a bug. You can still tag secondary objectives without finding them first.

This, you could do it with any armor not just scout armor. clear bug. It never worked on your first match but after that it always worked. Things like that just don't make sense unless its not intended.

I was doing super credit runs just now and this feature still works. You can do it with any armor piece.

That isn't what I am talking about though. Scout armor used to allow you to see a poi when you hovered over it before it was discovered. It would literally pop up and say POI.

Marking secondary objectives is a completely different thing.

So hovering over the minimap actually says POI for you when you are in the minimap without wearing scout armor?

Yup. Scout armor just highlights enemies further away. The POI being shown is an unintended bug on the minimap separate from armor effects. Usually, the first mission in a session will not have this bug active but every other mission will.

OP, I know what you're talking about, and that's half the reason I use Infiltrator armor.

You hover your cursor around the map, and a little dialog 'Minor Point of Interest' will appear.

I used it to ping the MPOIs for my team when we split up.

I did notice it stopped working on a game last night, and said the same thing to my friends. I thought they nerfed it. But then I played another and it worked. Maybe there's a modifier that prevents it??

Kind of funny how so few people actually ever knew about this :ccskull:

it's not a hidden mechanic?? It's literally stated in the card and works as of literally 5 minutes ago

I was saying if you hovered over minimap you would be able to find PoI. no matter what armor you were wearing. Now you can find PoI, but only if they are in the vicinity of your radar. Not sure about the scout armor, but if it were to be kept as a feature of scout armor, it would be dope.

It literally doesn't say that.

I think you might not understand what I am actually talking about. When using the scout armor and only the scout armor the text minor poi would appear when you hovered over a certain point. This had no range limit and would work across the entire map if you scanned it. I am not talking about secondary objectives. This never worked with the default or any other armor types in my experience.

Hmm I ran a few missions last night and it wasn't working so I swapped off. I would know a poi is near from the ? on the hud and even try to find it by pinging near where it should be but it would never show up.

I also recently upgraded nuclear radar so I wonder if that could be why.

Whether it is intended or not, I can hover POI's to find them still. I use the Legionnaire light armor. It could be armor based because I have had it be intermittent to work in the past but since I stuck with this one I can always do it.
FFS_Fenix Feb 29, 2024 @ 4:49pm
Generally it won't show you POI's on your very first mission upon boot up, but after your first mission you can scroll over potential POI's and it will tell you they are once again on your missions after that first initial boot up mission.

I'll do some more thorough testing tonight and let you know. Maybe post a screenshot so others learn too lol
