SOS beacons completely broken?
Half the time the SOS beacon seems to be unavailable when you're playing solo. When it is available, and I have thrown it, I have literally never gotten someone to join. With the exception of one time, when the lobby filled when I had 10% of my time left.

Is this an issue for anyone else? They seem to be completely non-functional for me. There's 300k players in-game and still I just got stuck with 40 real-life minutes down the drain due to a failed mission, SOS beacon pinging the entire duration. Slightly frustrating to say the least -- a blemish on an otherwise great game.

The SOS beacons dont increase quick-play rates at all, all it does is give your lil squad on the map a small "ping" effect (thats assuming someones selecting your map, and has the same difficulty selected, and is willing to join you when they can see how much time you spent+your level)

I'm definitely having a similar struggle. I have no trouble getting people to join when I first select a mission. However after I start the dive and somebody leaves, I never get a replacement. Doesn't matter if I use the SOS beacon, start a new mission, or wait on the ship forever. My game is just permanently buried.

I've joined plenty of other games where someone has left, often already on the second or third mission in a series, so I know it's possible. But it's making hosting for me unbearable.

It does ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I've thrown it down and gotten 0 people to join, but the times where I don't the lobby fills pretty fast.
and again no quick play possible... ffs only increasing servers at weekends is trash

It wouldnt surprise me if the game with quickplay would prioritize games that haven't started yet or such, i have had plenty of people join me if i start into a match solo at difficulty 6-7

Ahhh, gotcha, ty. I don't have in in front of me but I feel like the description implies otherwise -- but it'd makes sense the way you explained it. Even that time my lobby filled, it didn't seem connected to the beacon.
There is also an element of git gud/skill issue, like if I can't handle the risk of losing a 40 minute solo mission I shouldn't undertake it. So maybe I shouldn't use the word blemish.

EDIT: I typed this when there was only the first reply I didn't see the rest until I hit enter lol. That's who I'm replying to

for me it doesnt work anything now. 10 minutes before everything was fine

sos beacons searching infinite and cant join manually

Things that measure why you dont get help.

1. WHen someone is selecting quickplay, they are selecting on a certain difficulty. So its just a matter of chance.
2. Your basically added to a queue list of others who also put a SOS out. The only way people will narrow to odds helping you, is to be on the same planet and difficulty.

For me, I will select like Medium difficulty because its somewhat a challenge, plus decent rewards I could feel kinda okay about. If we happen to get a good team, I will go higher, but I am still on edge. Also, cause I worry my connection will go off mid of the quest.

That's what I was on, the current bug order/campaign on medium. That's as high as I can comfortably survive solo at my current lvl (13). Even on that difficulty it gets impossible to move if you let the clock wind down to less than ~5:00 as a solo. Which is what happened to me, less than a minute from evac, painfully.

well the game isnt exactly designed for soloplay (game doesnt have difficulty scaling, it just sets it to 4 players)

That's an entirely valid point -- but if the gameplay is balanced solely around teamplay it's also fair to criticize the social features when they don't work as intended.

I'm not knocking the game at all I love it -- and I know it's a small studio overwhelmed by unexpected success. I was just salty and had to vent it somewhere by posting this.

I've heard people speculate that they are in fact bugged currently. They're supposed to prioritize your game for quick play queues and maybe add a joinable icon on the mission selection screen but don't seem to function properly right now, at least not consistently.
