Diligence counter sniper is very underwhelming
It simply looks like a downgrade from the basic Diligence stat wise.

Pros :
-Slighly more damage
-Scope is 50/100/200 meters (instead of 25/75/150), which can be both a good and a bad thing

Cons :
-Less bullet per magazine (15 vs 20)
-Less magazines ! Only 6 magazines vs 8
-More recoil and way worse handling (the aim sways a lot more compared to the basic diligence)

The cons outweight by far the pros. You only have 105 bullets at full supply (vs 180 for basic Diligence), and will most likely miss more bullets as well because of the sway. If only it had something like a thermal scope to compensate, but right now I don't see any point in playing it whatsoever. The only nice thing with it is that it one-shot the bug eggs.

The fact I can nail robot skull headshots in minimum zoom OR THIRD PERSON with the basic marksman, that the counter sniper loves to botch at max zoom because ??? Yeah...

Gun A: chain headshot kills while I crouch strafe.
Gun B: Stationary position vs target has shots deflect around it's face,

Only a gullible idiot would try to blame skill issues instead of gun issues there.

Also doesn't help that I brought it out at first to test people claiming "No fair calling it bad! Because it secretly has medium penetration!", and I spent that mission constantly apologizing for bringing it while it bounced off of things the medium pen assault rifle can at least tickle.

I think the people you met mistook it with the anti-material rifle, which indeed has medium penetration, but it's a support weapon so not comparable.

Most "upgrades" are sidegrades at best and downgrades at worst.

With the only upside being 15 points of damage, it really doesn't hit any breakpoints against the bots. Maybe, MAYBE more consistent headshot takedowns against man-sized bots? That's useful for stealth clearing outposts, but still ultimately worse since the aim-drag prevents you from countering flares. The drag alone makes it worse in every other situation as well, you'll be missing more shots with a smaller ammo pool, but still have to hit just as many.

Really hope they can make the equipment roster more diverse. Too many options that are just "X but worse".

If you're going to snipe, I feel like all the primary options are underwhelming vs. A support sniper weapon.

None of the primary snipers feel like they have a role, even if one can beat a map with them.

Personally feel primary snipers are good. Keep distance and aim well, you can clear an automaton outpost without alerting the group. Splitting from the group I can get objectives, resources and typically clear enemies without them calling reinforcements.
It also lets you play sideline or backline and quickly pick off man-sized units in 1-2 shots which really helps thin the horde. In the right circumstance you can also 2-tap devastators with headshots, but it's hard to do and I usually switch to railgun/anti-material rifle for heavies.

i do like the basic one vs bots, it feels like an upgrade to shotgun. that+railgun goes well, takes some getting used to though.
The countersniper version is horrible mainly due to its handling. Id probably use it if it handled well as I feel it more consistently one shots bots in third person, but i mainly like it because its cute

Specifically the opposite in my experience. The AMR is only really useful against heavy units, a task much better done with the railgun, which cannot handle small fry due to a lack of ammunition.

The basic diligence is superb at quickly dispatching distant hunters to cover the flanks of your allies, or to rapidly take out the remnants from an airstriked patrol, a task the AMR cannot reliably do.

Same thing I have no idea why the assault rifle can have medium penetration but a marksman rifle which is supposed to pack a punch and is a "better variant" has a light penetration with only 15 damage boost like wtf who designed this ♥♥♥♥? Whole game desperetly needs a big balance patch for weapons because im tired of lvls 40-50 bringing a breaker, railgun and shield combo that carried them trough the whole game and then they rush the outposts solo only to be killed and just ragequit.

too bad they decided to ditch the upgrade system from HD1 to make weapons worthwhile investing into.
