Playing with Randoms

Im gonna buy this game today. But, i dont have friends.. and i dont want to join some Discord nerds or Steam-Groups. Im socially awkward. How does this game play with randoms?

It an emotionall rollercoaster playing with randos. This game best played with comms and known set of people

I play with randoms all the time, it's fine.
The only downside is you run into a lot of open mic dudes who don't need to be on open mic. Loud as hell, coughing, eating, THE SMOKE ALARM BEEPING!

But you can individually adjust each players volume or mute them in game. And if you disable crossplay with PS players, you may avoid some open mics.

please note that when you join a group of randoms the leader has the option to kick anyone without a voting system and no penalty, also friendly fire is on for everyone without a penalty and you have no option to turn it off, I have 120+ hours in this game and I can say 3 to 5 out of 10 groups you join would face some of those bad players who make you waste 30+ minutes helping them and then they kick you right before the end of the mission and you would get nothing, also people think killing group members is funny and they keep doing it, if you can handle this type of mental illness then buy the game.

honestly, everyone here saying it's bad XD, it's really not, I myself don't have any friend's with the game, and I have been playing non-stop, it's really fine, I can Imagine how amazing it must be with friends, as I'm having a blast with randons alone, 60% of matches at least one person is nice and helps me around, I'm a completionist so I try my best to do as many things as possible in a mission, and at these times having people listen to you or simply follow your pings it's great, I really think you should buy the game, it's an amazing experiance that I'm glad I'm having.

About communication, If you are fine with talking in voice chat, I assure you that 90% of the time that you say something, people WILL listen to you, and over half the time will even respond, I was a bit shy at first but I got less and less, you don't even have to talk much lol, usually what I say is "there's a bunker here boys" and people help me out.

Overall tho, I think it's ok to not talk, but pinging things is good, if you find something good ping it, people tend to at least look to see what it is. Also try to stay with your squad ALWAYS, as a biginner you'll very likely just follow someone who is highter level and know more than you, do follow them, and learn from watching them do stuff, but always try to experiment, it doen't hurt, and if anyone is hurt by it, whatever XD. either way, If you decide to buy the game, hope you have a blast!

It's bad until you hit level 15 or so and then people stop randomly kicking you from things and it gets much better.

I got shot because I took a box of supplies when someone called it and he told me not to touch his drops again,
I got shot when I tried to activate a terminal of an objective and the leader told me this is his job don't do it again,
again someone in the group was killing people to try their weapons I shot him once and got kicked
someone was playing alone far away from the rest of the group, he died and revived him, he shot me because I revived him far away from where he died and can't get his samples back,
got kicked seconds before departure many times without giving a reason,
got killed many times and sometimes it that one person who joins the group to kill everyone and leaves after laughing on the mic.

I really frustrated with this state of the game but I'm sure it's not about luck, I play another game with lot of toxic players like DV2 and never experienced that like in HD2.

I am playing with randoms mostly.

Matchmaking is not perfect, but at least now it works.
