I am still more angry over shameless no-clipping and cheating over ledges enemies get, like every game ever.
Up a cliff and it is a coinflip if a charger does not just teleport on top of it to keep chasing, or if chainsaw robots start walking waist deep through the rocks to slash at your legs.
"Why didn't you headshot the hulk yet idiot!?" "It keeps jittering up and down by ten feet for every pebble it steps on."
At least "Oh did fromsoft program these?" constant coward dodges on hunters, is intentional annoyance. That does not make it good when you get bored of firing an extra time to put them down so many times you can't consider it a challenge at all. it is just less terrible than the jank based problems too many are desperate to claim is "A deep skill based challenge that adds an element of chaos"
of course i have met stalkers. they are scary (in an actually fun way) and they are fine. because they are actually somehwat easy to deal with. once the lair is gone boom, no more stalkers.
hunters on some missions are ligitimate the dominant bug type. and its infuriating.
My fav is when I start using a terminal.
SMG idea sound interesting!
Last night i was running with a pug, but we stuck together and prioritised the bugs getting close to each other and it was ok. Does promote a buddy system quite well.
Defender functions like you wish a videogame assault rifle actually did, and is also accurate enough with crouch strafing you have good odds of walking it across medium robot skulls in 3rd person in a single mag.
Just remember the rate of fire on that "70 damage per round" monster IS a flaw. leave it on full auto because if you use burst you will only fire 2 out of 3 bullets quick tapping M1, Remember it can't magdump into a single beefy target as good as it can kill a dozen trash robots or leaping hunters in a row. (on that note. 2nd pistol on full auto is better to whip out for exposed charger knees. revolver is shockingly garbage in spite of that tempting big damage per shot stat)
So there is a reason I use it more often against robots than I do "I need this stalker off my ass RIGHT NOW" bugs. Even if it probably the #1 primary for hunters killed per magazine.
