Toxic Player Management
Might have to look into a new way the "mission" is hosted.
The host ship can kick anyone from the game without a vote.
We had a host player kick everyone from the team seconds before we extracted after a 30 min mission.
A few more of those and i'm outta here until it's fixed.

"Host your own game" it works good, quit crying and trying to take away a useful utility to combat griefers and cheaters. Leave and don't come back, you're the problem.

I agree! This Undemocratic behavior must be exterminated immediately. Today I learned the term "Grief Kicking".

Getting some friends, playing solo or hosting the game yourself, there are already so many solutions. A vote kick system could bring some other kind of toxic, what if 3 friends who join and vote-kick the host right before the extraction just to let their 4th friend in.

Yeah this is a complaint a lot of people have. I would love to come up with a way to mitigate grief kicking but for now you have to stop joining other people's games.

More than any bug, this is what is going to kill the game faster than anything else. It really needs to be vote kick rather than host kick. Sure, there will still be the occasional grief kick, but it will dramatically reduce it to levels that won't kill the playercount.

It sucks when it's misused but eh, there's been a good few players I just wanted out of my game, no questions asked.

I've started to block hosts that kick me so hopefully we don't get matched again. I think they should work it into the UI; instead of telling you you've been kicked it could ask if you were kicked unfairly and want to block that host. Or perhaps they could make the kick itself an automatic block. I would be happy with either option so long as we're not matched again.

yea I hope blocking people removes ability in finding games they are part off. I get kicking in ship but once your on the planet there should be vote kick only.

There needs to be host migration, like what Monster Hunter does. If host disconnects, or you are kicked, it just transfers you (or the whole rest of the lobby, in case of host disconnect) to another identical instance and you can continue on.

It would be quite the endeavour for the devs though, but I think it'd be worth it.

Inversely, I've had games where I've soloed for most of the mission on a high difficulty, three people join that are severely underlevelled for the higher difficulty challenges, proceed to die en masse or team kill one-another with stratagems and take the reinforce count down to 1-2 lives remaining. This doesn't happen often, maybe one in twenty games, but it's enough that I'm glad I can just yeet them out without having to make it a vote.

Jesus christ dude you're being overly aggressive. For a lot of us that use quickplay, we constantly get kicked because people are too dumb to know they can set a game to friends only or some other contrived reason because god forbid someone use a build you don't like.

I was thinking of buying this game and suddenly I'm not too sure if I should. :/

Go for it dude, people complain about the 1 bad incident they have but are silent about the 100 times that nothing bad happens

Thanks. But any more incentives to push me to Eagle based Democracy? Cause I'm still somewhat on the fence considering the fact that I would definitely buy a similar game. Particularly the other "Kill giant insects while screaming like madmen" game coming out sometime this summer.

the dude is right i love hosting my own games because you are completely in control, you should try it, dont like something just kick and the issue is over.

you had a bad match like in any game i get it but just move on to the next match its fine

The problem with hosting your own game is that there are far too many different variations for ops/missions (difficulty, planet, the mission types themselves). Even with quickplay, which has its own set of problems, there are a LOT of available games, and people are only looking for a select few of them. This leads to people just not joining your game because its not the right diff/planet.

I see dozens of missions with just one person, and maybe one or two with 2-3. And I end up playing almost all of my hosted missions alone. Not that I mind, I can solo a automaton civilian defense mission on medium, but cant do it with team because they keep spamming explosive stratagems like they're michael bay.
