why do helldivers have no uniform code?

when i deploy into battle i feel like i'm a part of some power rangers party instead of a military unit, considering how every helldiver i deploy with has a different color - red, black, white, yellow, orange, green, brown, gold, blue, and what not... i'm pretty sure i even saw an armor and a cape which had xmas theme, made to make u look like an xmas elf-
i believe the helldivers' uniform code supposed to consist of black, yellow, white, and gold, but the game is actively punishing players who try to follow it by connecting the armor's look to the stats, and making it so the uniform code compliant uniforms sabotage ur helldiver's stats in comparison to other helldivers!
by the Emperor's mercy, how am i supposed to feel like i'm a part of a military unit if i'm being forced to look at this eyesore?

My own headcanon is that they look different because Helldivers are from different times (Whenever they went into cryo), with different gear (whatever was available). They are also NOT a professional military as is seen by the sheer amount of TK going on, both intentional and not.

Such won't make sense to everyone, but that is my reasoning for all the colors.

So yes, we all can look different FOR FREEDOM!

It would be nice to see a transmog for sets also an ability to transmog other players look. Not gonna lie seeing someone in bright orange miner suit is kinda odd

I just use what looks good who cares about stats, Armor Rating doesn't even work and the passives aren't even game changing

I do agree that they should have an optional setting to default everyone's appearance on clientside. Still a weird thing to complain about on a satire game.

This is a common misconception but fear not overly concerned and meddling citizen for the Helldivers conform to the highest standards and have a very strict uniform code!

The armor they are wearing on top of their uniform on the other hand is handled under each section of the Helldiver forces for optimal and maximum spread of LIBERTY and DEMOCRACY.

Uniforms are for the regular military. Helldivers are "special". Plus that would be boring.

Helldivers are elite troops (believe it or not...) and as such are afforded liberties the standard SEAF troopers are not.

Technically only the very basic standard armor and weapons are issued.

The rest you pay for yourself, so why would there be restrictions? In fact, it's heavily encouraged. There's NPC dialog related to how they even have to pay for their own meals and lodging.

Marking you experience and knowledge to differentiate yourself is all part of any military. Getting tattoo's, painting a decal etc etc.

the original outfits (minus three dlcs) were all clearly colour-coded

these new ones are a bit odd since we have the blue and white preorder armour for example be sponsored by a yogurt company, so it seems like in universe, the helldivers have become a product which allows them to have ♥♥♥♥ like toothpaste-coloured gear sponsored by yogurt companies
