LAS-98 Laser Cannon does jack sh#t to chargers

I've been using it all day on level 5 missions and it is utter kräp vs Chargers. The supposedly heat damage does not apply, I get the glancing effect when I hit armor, headshots dont do a thing, I had fights lasting over 5 minutes with the Las Cannon vs a charger until he probably died from boredom. What a joke this heavy weapon is. It's supposed to bypass armor? Nada. Heat damage? Nada. It's a pathetic waste of space, thats all.

Pretty sure it'll cut through medium armor (Hive Guard legs, Bile Spewer heads, every Automaton weakpoint) but not heavy (Charger everywhere except the backside and such)

It cuts through a medium amount of armor at least, there's no reduced damage if hitting its abdomen. You can melt it off and it eventually bleeds out.

Dropp on Draupnier and try it for 30 - 40 missions

Since the Laser Cannon keeps you stationary its a poor choice for chargers anyway.

to make laser cannon work agains chargers you need to use a bug in game, after it charges you hit his back leg, posible to do it in 1 charge if not repeat until dead

It's kinda funny that the "heat" description is often interpreted as heat damage instead of heat built-up mechanic.

Laser Cannon is not terrible at killing Chargers but definitely not good at it. Beam their rear and make sure you are actually hitting the soft spots rather than the armored top that covers more than it looks like it should.

If its chasing someone else Laser Cannon is almost good at it even but it really is more of a anti-automaton weapon(very fast heat vent kills on Tanks/Turrets/Hulks).

wich is BS imo. even if it takes time, it SHOULD either deal damage through the armor without stripping it, or strip after some time. i mean its a laser, they cut trhough ♥♥♥♥, melt steel and stuff. if it deals damage to medium armor it should deal damage to heavy as well, its not like with projectiles that can bounce or get stuck halfway through. its just thicker so takes longer. but it should do something.

The Laser Cannon itself is good, it's just not intended for armored targets. Don't expect it to kill a Charger, just like you wouldn't expect the machine gun to kill a Charger.

BTW, Chargers are absolutely the most BS enemy in the game. It takes a literal, entire backpack of Recoiless Rifle to take them down with no misses. This means that I have to sacrifice a backpack slot AND STILL NOT KILL A CHARGER. The Arc Thrower does work but it takes absolutely forever

I'm level 18, and I'm waiting to get level 20 to see how the Spear does. It literally says it's for large armored targets, so if it doesn't kill the Charger then I'm refunding.

Hit the Charger in the head with the Recoiless, or twice in one leg, or once in one leg and then finish off by shooting said leg with your primary after the armor is stripped.
You shouldn't be unloading your entire backpack of recoiless into one charger.
