Anyone else finding the Hunter to be 10x more obnoxious after the update?
Ill preface this by saying I don't think the Termanid Hunter is necessarily overpowered but they are most definitely super annoying to fight against ESPECIALLY in packs.

I am aware that apparently there was a stealth buff to head shot damage you take which has resulted in Hunters utterly slaughtering people within 2 seconds.

But disregarding the borderline instant crit kills they deliver, I find the hunter to be an extremely obnoxious enemy to fight currently, my average interaction with a hunter pack is as follows:
1. The pack spots me/I shoot at them, some of them may jump at me
2. I get instantly hit with the super annoying tongue attack inflicting the slowed debuff which REQUIRES me to dive to get rid of it or else I will get instantly massacred.
3. After diving the Hunters IMMEDIATELY leap after me, if I am unlucky one hunter plants itself on top of me causing my Helldiver to forget what standing up is, at this point I am dead on the spot as the Hunters tear me to pieces.
4. Assuming I was able to get up the Hunters immediately perma slow me again and due to their high attack speed they prevent me from using a stim due to stunlock.

Does anyone else find the Hunters to be this obnoxious/experience similar issues of getting insta killed/immediately ganged to death? Or is this just me having a skill issue on fighting them?

While I'm no fan of the spawn changes (a handful of chargers to juke vs. 50 hunters, take your pick), there are ways to counter the Hunters.

My strategy usually involves blitzing as many as I can at the start of the engagement, Impact Grenades, Grenade Launcher, Cluster Bomb, these are my go-tos.

If they are not dead or I am caught in the middle of them, Redeemer is a Hunter destroyer. I usually stim as soon as I can to absorb damage while I kill as many as I can around me, break away, rinse and repeat.

I've also been enjoying the MP-Knight even before the spawn change. It requires trigger discipline but it will devastate trash bugs. I like to use it with heavy weapons that require a lot of re-positioning since it's quick to use.

Yeah usually I try stuff alongside that but if I am unfortunate you get caught in a pack of 20 hunters and that ♥♥♥♥ just feels unavoidable at points, I dont think the Hunters OP itself more some questionable balance changes such as the Headshot damage change and the perma slow makes them super annoying to fight. My biggest issue is sometimes I am desperately trying to stim but the hunters stunlock me so I cant.

This did not happen in this patch, but in the previous one, there was a hidden up, there were a lot of them, hidden changes. This patch simply added more of them.

Hunters quick follow up attacks and consistent headshot damage is what I dislike most.

if your good hunters wont get within 25m of you there the 2nd most squishy bug there is if you have issues with them its a skill issue learn to shoot

They definitely do quite a lot and it's getting quite annoying with the increased spawn rate.

OMFG.. I thought I was doing something wrong. I could NOT figure out why I cant get back up! I USED to be able to. But now.. whatever they did.. they make hunters the absolute worse. I'll take 5 chargers at one time over 3 hunters. 2 hunters.. doable. 3 or more.. forget it. They ALL leap randomly and all have insane jump ranges. They all land on/around you and hit you with the slow.. and you're done. ESPECIALLY if you have to reload. Nothing like using that new nerfed 13 round and run out trying to kill 3 of them, only to have about 7 or 8 small dudes and 2 or 3 more hunters coming at you.. you dive.. hunter jumps on you (literally every time now.. EVERY damn time) and you're slowed, and I thought my controller was busted. I could NOT get back up to run/dive again. DEATH. Every time.

It's ridiculous. They nerf the one gun that can 1 to 2 shot them, AND they make them jump a lot further AND they make a LOT more of them show up AND they all have guaranteed jump aim.. its made the game a lot less fun honestly.

"skill issue". FU. It's not skill. If you got 3 to 5 of them + a dozen small ones coming at you from a breach and a charger or three, and then you get a couple of the invisi dudes (forget their names) as well.. so you're swapping to heavy to try to take that out, but then run/dive and swap to other gun.. its insane.

So they absolutely broke the game's fun level by making it nearly impossible when a single breach happens unless you have team mates there to help. Good luck on a PUG of 1/2/3 other players helping you out. I have only had one pug in about 30+ games where they all stuck together and worked together and while I was half dead/running/reloading another player took up the mantel to kill some dudes chasing me.

This game is truly aimed at the group of 4 friends who have mics/headsets and play together. Because PUGs are horrible at the supposed latest patch reducing the numbers.

if you punch, you can stun them before they do their annoying lick attack. Stalkers and hunters, your best bet isn't to run the whole time, but gun them down fast as possible.

I've always thought that the most difficulty parts of the game vs terminids was dealing with stalkers and hunters. Chargers and Titans have never really posed as much of a threat.

Yeah normally thats what I did before the recent updates, the stalker never really bothered me as I found getting ragdolled just to be funny and in some cases actually got me distance.

With the recent update however I cant deal with the 20 hunters while trying to kite the 1 or two chargers I cant kill because attempting to reload the recoiless rifle results in immediate death, nvm the fact that patrols hone in on you like they can smell you now containing an extra 10 hunters to the fray.

Having them spawn in your back out of nowhere feels like cheating in order to make it hard.
It's annoying and shouldn't be in game.
At least have them crawl out of the ground with sound instead of having them magically pop in to existence.

I'm not the only Knight enjoyer! Very good on small bugs!

So far as I can tell (because the devs don't disclose anything and we're left guessing why the game is so un-fun suddenly), the first balance pass (among many other unlisted changes) included buffs to at least some enemy's HP as well as adjustments to either the AI or the netcode which made bug attacks in particular far harder to dodge. They may attack more aggressively as well, I'm not entirely sure - because they won't tell us what they actually changed.
Combine this with headshots now doing more damage to the player and you have a surefire recipe for hunters being, "more fun," since the patch.
So, no, it's definitely not just you. Don't let the, "Skill issue," crowd try to gaslight you into thinking otherwise.

Hunters frustrate me to no end honestly. Even before their buffs their slow ability is ridiculously over powered. The most agile enemy in the game, one that actively jumps out of your fire line and can run down Usain Bolt, also being able to slow you down to less than crawling speed? It sucks so hard to play against.
And now they are more accurate and aggressive than before and able to constantly land head shots even against jumppacking helldivers, AND there's a headshot damage buff??
Its like trying to run away from a sentient glue trap thats wielding an axe and a personal vendetta.
I'd rather they knock me over or launch me like stalkers do.
