Heavy armor sucks but there is too many people on this game that think every stratagem / weapon / armor type should be viable against both factions, some are clearly stronger against bots while some are stronger against bugs and we’re still waiting on illuminates
„Headshots“ can currently trigger on any part of the body and those ignore armor which kills you in 2 shots from even the smallest bugs
It seemed to be most common on light armor but we stopped testing after 20 minutes as the bigger units (the ones above warrior) seemed to kill in two hits no matter the armor rating.
i dunno i just, havent really noticed it, i get smacked around all the time but it's never a two shot unless it's something very strong like a stalker or a charger
yep, its pretty annoying. seem to happen more or less 30% of the time.
Armor is currently implemented in a very lazy way. its not "each part have their armor" kind of thing.
its just body armor, damage reduction is based on the sum of your armor rating (helmet + cape + chest), so its not 50 armor vs 150 armor, its 250armor vs 350armor, not nearly as big a difference.
We dont have actual number for damage. but we can compare 2 armor. and comparing 250 armor rating and 350armor rating on scavenger while ignoring the "Critical hit" gives you 5 hit in light armor vs 7 hit in heavy armor.
350/250 = 1.4
1.4 x 5hits = 7 hits
So heavy armor can take 40% more "regular hit". its not great, but its not horrible. The problem in that is the "regular" part of it. everything, and i do mean everything can deal you hit that will straight up ignore armor, even the little scavenger scratching your ankle, will deal 70% of your hp more or less once every 3 hits.
