Defending the silos suck
Failed the new mission 5 times with 5 different groups. The A,B, and C silos need to be more durable or something needs to be increased health wise to them or the amount of bugs attacking them needs to be decreased.

It's funny to see people are not able to adapt to anything. Each time there is a new mission type offering a challenge, instantly they cry that it is too hard or impossible.
Try it solo. Or as a duo with limited Stratagems. The problem is not adaptation. I have used the said stratagems. It does not make a difference when 4 bug breaches happen in totally different areas.

The problem is you can only do so much with what you are given. Not to mention Bile titans and then also charges one shot the silo.

But no. I will continue to cry as you say. As you just said the missions aren't meant for Due or solo.
Flamethrower is absolutely sick on the tower missions, as is tesla, arc gun, and ems MG and gatling turrents, HMG emplacement frag grenades, I beat it on level 7 and it didnt seem that bad, just make sure to walk around the silo you could have a swarm of biters on a hidden side and dont rely on orbitals/eagles other than the ones that specifically dont damage buildings
The map sucks, at least on Fenrir 3 (haven't tried other facilities- hope they aren't all the same).

-Several spots where you can fall through the ground while running, especially concrete ramps and metal grates
-Several deep water pits that you can land your pod in to die immediately, lol
-Several spots on the facility itself where your pod can fall through the environment and get you stuck below. You can get stuck in weird spots, like slight elevation changes in the floor, where your Helldiver can't move from.
-Location to activate final machine position not correctly marked on map

I can't believe I beat my first one if they're going to be like this, lmao.

Also on Fenrir 3... I'm not sure if the ground of the facility (metal grating mostly) always correctly shows the blue illumination for landing meteors.

Literal skill issue. Me and two buddies completed multiple of these on difficulty 7. Is it easy? No. You need a plan and proper loadout to quickly deal with large groups of bugs and heavies. Turrets can help supplement firepower if your group is having trouble covering all directions and 500kg bomb or mech or any other anti armor is a MUST for quickly killing titans and chargers.
By far one of the worst missions implemented yet.
The progress bar must be bugged as well, a player would expect it to be shown on screen while progression is being made, instead you must hit TAB to see percentage.

This mission Duo or solo is just not feasible unless you get the perfect spawn rates of bugs.
It's not meant to be played solo or duo.
I'm not really the one to talk, since I haven't even played since the new patch, yet, but if you can join a mission solo, I think it should be doable solo. If it's not meant for solo, then it should require a minimum amount of players to play at all...
When solo play is on the table, then it needs to be balanced for that, too...

Yeah this new mission is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful, towers need to not take friendly fire damage if nothing else. You cannot clear out bugs that get to the tower without putting it on critical or outright resetting it.
me and my buddy did it 2 man on level 7 so i dont think its that bad.. it took us about 4 trys to figure it out
Yes, it sucks. But not impossible. I found it's easier to active all together so that the mobs are spread thinner and make the total number of mobs in each silo smaller. If you only have one silo left, you need to try to redirect the mobs far from the silo, get close and provoke them then run away from the silo. The biggest disappointment is that as a 40 mins mission it could only offer basic samples and no of point interests. The reward doesn't justify the effort we helldivers put into it.

Does this mean we get an Air Strike of Gas stratagem unlock?

The Orbital one is kinda small imo.
CLeared several duo with mechs, mines and mortars. WAs simple with the mechs. Take a hemisphere each.

The silos are affected by friendly fire.

Also on this topic, shotguns do insane amounts of damage to the cans as collateral shooting in its direction. So many times the can gets tked by a breaker user just shooting bugs nearby. I would avoid shotguns entirely for this mission unless they make the can more resilient

you basically need to make sure your group has a good mix of anti-armor and crowd control.

high-end you probably want 2 mech users with turrets they place before jumping in while the other 2 have CC while mech users focus on the bile titans/chargers.
You have to be careful on what gets called in, as friendly fire will damage it.
Good communication and rotating to threats coming in is key
