Patrols spawning in on top of you
I'm all for having to deal with more bugs on higher difficulties, even the more challenging ones as well. I'm all for needing to be prepared, work as a team and also trying to avoid combat where you can.

But, even on Helldive difficulty, you could be running and a patrol with a Charger plus his comrades will simply spawn 10m in front of you and aggro, it just doesn't feel like a legitimate challenge, more an unfair disadvantage to the player.

So you've spent all that time engaging the enemies you need to do around objectives, or in nests, have a patrol or two wander in to help, only to have other patrols randomly spawn in and add to the fray instead of making it look more legitimate?

It honestly screams of bad gameplay to me.

Thoughts? Thoughts on how this can be corrected whilst still keeping the challenge in place?

It's been a thing since the beginning, I think it's based on the host, positions of the rest of the enemies, and how many already exist. Obviously i'm pulling that out of my ass though. It's literally all guess work.
well use your stratagems :steamfacepalm:
But to be real jea they need to fix that stupid spawn mechanic that patrols always spawn in earshot and are not patrols they but more like reinforcments and it just looks stupid that you have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ conga line of bots and or bugs that stretch behind that rock back there!

There's alot of documented evidence of this happening as low as difficulty 3/4 on reddit/X and even youtube shorts.

They will actually just manifest a full patrol on top of the player on occasion (sometimes literally) when all frabricators/hives are destroyed with no animations. They just pop into existence without any warning while you're walking between objectives.

It's not even host based, some of this happens while you're solo. If you've not alerted enemies for too long the game will spawn patrols behind you within line of sight of your character.

I've only recently unlocked Helldive difficulty and I honestly do expect more bugs to deal with. But it's super annoying to see them literally spawn in right in front of you, as if they were there the whole time.

When you're going up against a nest, you'll always get a bug breach, plus maybe a patrol or two, only to then have several more patrols spawn in, it just doesn't seem right to me.

I think it makes the bugbreach concept obsolete.
Why have a system that is designed to escalate, and be announced, when that escalation can just happen without the bugbreach mechanic.
Makes no sense.

I'm actually of the belief that bug breaches should only spawn lower level mobs, not the bigger ones like chargers and bile titans. I'm happy for Chargers to be on points of interest or roaming in patrols, with bile titans seemingly just wandering around, perhaps stumbling into an engagement nearby.

I just think that with how impossible it is to stop a bug breach like 95% of the time, players shouldn't be devastated by having so many elites pouring around that they can barely deal with.

Hasn't happened to me solo. At least not while they are in my field of view. I do often get randomly jumped by like 12 troopers though. The bot marching sound isn't exactly subtle so they are probably just getting spawned onto me.

well since the last patch the heavy spam at least for bugs got a lot softer and if you see something big crawl out just throw a 500kg on it if you dont have the 100% longer deployment

I feel like it takes the gameplay out of it. Players should be rewarded for clearing areas, or finding less traversed paths to avoid enemy contacts as much as possible. Having mobs spawned on top of you just seems like the game is trying to gimp you too hard.

Was trying to close a bug hole when a patrol spawned right in front of my face.... Yeah... I blew myself up at that moment...

Ouch! I'm hoping they address this at some point
