"Hold my primary, I'm going in!" Achievement - does the mech count as a primary or support weapon?

Re: topic. I just finished a hard run just purely using my mech, and the achievement didn't trigger. Does that mean it is a "support weapon"?

Were you solo? If so then its a bug most likely. I don't think the mech counts as a support weapon.

im just guessing but i think its detecting any shots fired by a player

The mech SHOULD count as a stratagem and SHOULD be OK to use to complete the achievement.

MECH is a support weapon as it shoots by user action. You can use only "passive" support gear, as the rovers if you want some assistance.

But all support weapons are also stratagems

Pretty sure it's classed as a support weapon given it's coloured the same.

Also, no one in the team can use anything but side arms and strategems.

This is super ez to do, just grab a duo partner, use the Redeemer pistol and laser guard rover with some hard-hitting orbitals and eagle strikes, and you should be golden. I got that one in first attempt

I believe using the HMG is allowed for this achievement.

My thinking is that it should function more as a "turret" that just happens to have legs--and is therefore not a support weapon. Based on the internet, "support" weapons in HD2 are all listed as alt weapons that you can store on your back, like the railgun, autocannon, etc.

This could most likely be the case, and if so the wording in the achievement is wrong.

I completed this achievement today on a blitz mission using the mech. Not sure why it didn't trigger for you, it could be a bug.
