Normally you should never be able to pierce the charger front legs with an autocannon. However, it's possible the back of the legs or the rear legs should be made normally vulnerable.
The "trick" for now is to simply wait until they get bugged then shoot the leg, but I'm not sure about once they fix the bug. They likely will be tweaking the charger besides fixing the bug as well at some point soon-ish.
Thanks for the reply, it was driving me nuts because it felt like if I could replicate it reliably it would bring the Chargers more in-line with other enemies as for TTK. But I guess the devs want every charger to be a minute long dive-dance. Bah
I gave up on trying to damage it on any of his parts. Not even the butt. Sometimes it takes 5 magazines of direct breaker hits to pop that nasty arse off. Some people get it off with 1 mag.
I just use some strategems or the mech rockets.
if something is too high armored at an certain angle it will bounce.
SO if something is angled to you ( side scraping ) it got a higher chance to bounce.
try to hit weakspots OR flat surfaces you know you should be able to penetrate ( some armors are too thick / angled )
I know this, it's why I said I tried straight-on shot or shots from the side. But that hasn't been consistent at all. The bug that their legs lose armor after a dash is what makes the most sense from searching my memory.
Because I definitely tried shooting direct at the flat part of their legs and still get constant bounces.
Nah, chargers are super inconsistent.
Sometimes I can use half a tank of flamethrower and it's dead.
Othertimes I have to use multiple canisters before they dead
Pretty sure the belly takes more damage then tail, but harder to reach. Easier to do on uneven terrain and diving.
(20mm bouncing on joints is crazy too)
Not using the Auto-cannon vs terminids until this is fixed or a consistent solution is found.
