The people who actually care about LGBT representation don't care about it being in Helldivers 2 because the game doesn't have characters and we aren't into cardboard cutout representation.
The people who hate it don't have to deal with it because the game has no space to add it.
This is a game about shooting bugs and robots, and political satire. Adding it would take away from the political satire. For both sides.
Kinda makes sense there's no gender selection in the character creation because it really doesn't matter. He/she/They/it. You're an armoured and armed soldier amongst a million others sent to kill anything inhuman and spread 'Managed democracy'. This is basically Starship Troopers. It's satire. it's a joke. And it's a fun one.
Game is inspired by Starship Troopers movie from 1997, therefore this kind of satire, which I personal like.
If you think this is woke, then play Gears 5. Rainbow flags, guns, sprays. Armors I think too.
It's funny how both sides claim this is satirizing the other side.
I would suggest doing research on political theory, history and ideology across various nations. For the sake of not taking a side, I won't say what side it's referring to, but it's always worth the research to learn more.
There is never any harm in more research.
I'd suggest looking into the extended history of Cuba, Russia, Korea, Japan, China, Sweden/Norway/Denmark, and Germany for a wide variety of political ideologies across history.
There's a lot that gets lost in simply dividing things along one axis. the various takes on Confucian ideals across the east asian nations is fascinating. Also I will never be able to look at the word "Tangy" again. It has been forever ruined for me, thank you China.
Being inclusive and being woke aren't the same.
