What does the gas cannon do

Is it just a damage tick or does it apply some kind of debuff? If it's a damage tick it really needs to be buffed because it feels like it doesn't do anything. If it removed enemy armor values or something that could be great for bots.

It's a dot, best used on bugbreaches/dropship or just gatherings of bots.

Used it yesterday for couple of hours, and im convinced it just cometic weapon. EMP strike is more useful than gas.

Gas strike has better dot than fire, has an initial explosion that kills bot factories and (sometimes) bug holes, and only a 60 second cooldown. It's awesome and slept on imo

Initial burst of damage on impact that IIRC can close bug holes but it's like, half the AOE of a nade explosion so you better aim it well. Other than that, very respectable damage over time in a fairly sizeable AOE that controls breaches/drops well and softens up anything it doesn't kill.

It's a damage over time but once they leave the cloud it stops shortly after. Clears off all the hunters or below that pass through it and mildly injures most other targets.

In my opinion, it's best use is either with the slow orbital or to throw it behind you as you run to force enemies to pass through it as they pursue you.

Not a top tier stratagem but it has it's uses.

With current HORDES of hunters chasing us, its a blessing.
I've had it kill 38 bugs with a single drop once.

It is also explosive, so it can close tunnels and destroy fabricators.

I use the gas strike on both bugs and autos and it kills just fine, it's good at killing the weaker stuff letting you deal with the bigger, just like napalm does.
