Enemy spawns in 4 - Challenging
Am I going insane? I remember clearing challenging difficulty last week and being relatively ok. Sure, I had a run for my money but I could handle the spawns and navigate around the map easily enough. Yesterday and today I have tried challenging again and... there are spawns all over the place. Enemy quantity seems off the charts. In medium things are pretty much easy now, to the point they are boring. But one difficult above, since a couple of days ago, became almost unbearable. Again, am I going insane? Did they change the enemy spawn rate?

Friends and I have noticed that we are sometimes getting multiple chargers spawned on us along with the big spitter bugs on challenging... its been weird since the update along with other stuff like tossing a stratagem to have it bounce 500 meters in a different direction

Devs could figure out how to turn on "Now enemies spawns are cranked up because they are mad you are winning so hard" for the last two operations across both enemy types, you could only see that note on the Z button pop up.

So the "known issue" admitted by the devs about spawns, was created by the fact the Devs have no idea how to turn off the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they added on purpose, long after those operations are over.

I just did a diff 4 and there was 3 chargers on a question mark. Got plenty more during the mission. I had an easier time on diff 7, it's kinda insane.

The spawn rates are broken across all difficulties.

Including Trivial, Easy and Medium.

Not only that. They will spawn out of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thin air, right in front of you. That's how bad it is.

I am getting flashbacks to Darktide's glaring spawn issues. Doesn't this use the same engine too?!

Had a 4 dif game last night with 3 friends while I was toying with builds. A dropship was filled with Berserkers; every slot was a Berserker.

No. It wasn't.

I have over 60 hour put into the game. Most of it, doing stealth runs solo. Why didn't i complain about this ♥♥♥♥ before then?

That's because this was not an issue until a few days ago. The spawn rate is absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥. The same goes for enemy detection. They have significantly reduced the range from which you can be detected and the enemies will now track you through solid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ objects that are part of the environment. You know? Mountains! That ♥♥♥♥'s easily noticeable when you combat rocket units. They will now home in on you along with their rocket barrages.

I am not even 5 mins into a Medium mission and i am already getting swarmed by patrols alone. Never mind the chain ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reaction when they call in for reinforcements and every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fabricator in the vicinity homes in on me too.

Suffice to say. Their most recent patch was absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage.

Ok so the challenging difficulty really got messed up? Am I not going insane? I didn't even have the railgun when i cleared the challenging operations. I had so much fun on those missions too. It was like the perfect match between making me sweat and being affordable to complete. Now even on medium i get overrun with mobs, no matter my playstyle. It's depressing.

I think its not just spawnrate thats affecting difficulty, but Aggression also. A lot of the enemies would hold back pre-patch, as well as not flying straight at your face while continuously moving nearly faster than you can sprint wearing medium armor. This game is really not meant to play solo, yet the matchmaking systems currently in place seem inadequate at best, I keep trying to join full lobbies for example, despite them being shown as "1/4".

A lot of lower levels are playing challenging, that's what makes it challenging.

It gets very messy with them because...

They all look in the same direction, trying to get the most kills.
You can have bots spawn on your back and no one is watching it.
There's that 1 guy that ignores the map pings, goes solo, then reinforces you miles away from where you died.
They'll happily take your weapons when you die. Leaving you without support weapons etc due to long cool downs.
They'll all throw eagles at a bot factory or bug hive at the same time.
They'll ignore the big red laser indicating something like an eagle is incoming.
They shoot at patrols with their primary first, causing drop ships/breaches to happen.
They don't understand killing the blue map locations first is optimal.

Get a good team that actually follows the map pings, stays together and doesn't all try to get the most kills possible, clears the map and challenging is a walk in the park.

Yes, they increased the spawn rates by 4x.
They said they're looking into fixing it.
They also have a habit of not releasing proper patch notes.

I know. Their patch notes are a joke. I have to rummage through ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Reddit posts just find all of the many stealth changes they introduce every patch.
