Can you check the individual core usage vs temperature?
It's also possible your cooling isn't working properly for the cores in question, be it the paste or the fit of your cooler.
If i dont use it my fans just scream when I play this and most games and temps go to 80+
When I do use it and control the fans myself I can keep them quiet and keep temps from ever going over 76.
Can also on most towers pull side of case off which helps a lot usually and if you still need more stick a cheap amazon fan there.
bad airflow, thermal paste old or bad, cpu fan bad.
i would start with locking the FPS to 60

To sum it up, there is a bad default setting on intel motherboards that are allowing too much voltage and this can be fixed by removing the auto setting. Steps 1-3 in the "Summary of Fixes from Article" post lowered my temps by 15 degrees and has fixed 4 games that have been crashing for me, including this one. Try it and spread the word if it works for you.
They sell after market products for this.
I know every Asus board (only brand I use) Over Volts by a lot. Turning the SVID to Typical Scenario will lower the voltage drastically and the temps.
I second this. Typical user won't notice it.
It will, if you're one of those bad motherboard with auto setting, which surpassing the cpu limit.
