It's being worked on, along with a lot of other stuff like enemy aggression (way too high), enemy heavy/elite spawn rates (wayyyyy too high), enemy armor values possibly, etc.
Seriously @Devs?
I mean I check map, I check surroundings, I ping all around the Bot(s) with scout gear. NO OTHER BOTS ANYWHERE NEAR. With a single shot per Bot I down a lone bot, or the group of 3, and from a mile away a flare goes up the millisecond I shoot? That's simply outrageous.
Don't punish just for the sake of punishing. Even in Dark Souls being careful and scouting is rewarded. Not at all on D7+ missions. The Bots just cheat so damn hard. That's not fun IMO. It's just plain cheating.
Players should be rewarded for doing a few things right and for scouting while being punished for being dumb. As it is now, we're simply punished no matter.
Yeah, that's the broken stealth + enemies being able to see through walls. Basically, right now, if you enter a certain radius of the enemies right now, thanks to this glitch/bug, you will always be detected and then they will NEVER un-detect you, no amount of smoke or hiding or running away will change that.
Sometimes I just ran around a big rock and they still aim somewhere I was like 10 seconds ago, so I shoot their back
Unless omeone else on the side spots you of course
Again, it's a bug. Sometimes (rarely atm) things work as intended, currently most of the time they don't.
What they CAN do is provoke you into shooting at the patrol, which depending on the distance may or may not alert the bots at the garrison.
Not to mention most patrols are apparently hard wired to walk directly to your location. I just did some testing on difficulty levle 7 wearing the stealth armor and attempted some hit and run tactics on secondary/tertiary missions.
I blew up some fabricators at the smaller outposts. Moved far away from my last point of contact. Wasn't spotted. Broke line of sight. Didn't call in any gear or supplies. Changed direction several times. Went prone. After all that I had three patrols walk DIRECTLY TO MY LOCATION and kill me three different times. Not near my location. They walked right on top of me up in some rocks not near a single structure or base.
I"m all for a challenge. This isn't a challenge. It's just cheating by the AI. Like cheating on horse steroids.
Dark Souls is as brutal as it gets in gaming. However the player is sometimes rewarded for out smarting their opponents, setting up their opponents, and having a bit of luck and skill. In HD2 right now the only tactic seems to be running simulator. Running from cheating AI that knows your location even if your out of contact, stealthed, prone. You can't clear an area per say, in order to get you and your squad breathing room and a safe fall back area in case things go bad on objective. There's no reward for trying to use your head and give your self an out and I'm not a fan.
No sorry. They're doing more than that. Me and a bro tested for about 4 hours yesterday. Hop on a D7+ mission and see for yourself.
Go hit a small outpost and blow up the Fabricator. Then move well away from that area. You'll have 2 patrols move DIRECTLY to your location wherever you're proned up.
I was just testing on another planet. The one in the system North of Draupnir on the System map. Had THREE patrols walk directly on top of me and kill me in three different locations after I blew up a Fabricator then ran off about 200 yards up into the mountain area. No enemy contacts at all as I left the small outpost. I moved far far away from my last contact and not in a straight line. They literally patrolled right up on top of me in the most out of the way, obscure locations possible.
Not what they meant, patrols are pathed so that their non-aggro state has them wander in your general direction to provoke firefights to light a fire under your asz to get you moving. They ARE hardwired to walk at you.
