The Armor Conspiracy
Ok, so I've been playing the game for a while, and recently while mindlessly scrolling through all the armor in the game, I noticed something interesting. The prefix on each armor corresponds to the passive benefit it gives. For instance the SC-34 Infiltrator armor has the prefix SC because it has the "Scout" passive. So each armor set has initials that tell you what the passive perk is at a glance, neat. Before I go onto the main issue here I'll list of all of them both for general reference and so that I don't need to explain them as I go.

B- Extra Padding (Basic)
SC- Scout
FS- Fortified (Fortified Sentry - S stands for sentry due to recoil reduction?)
CM- Med-Kit (Combat Medic)
CE- Engineering Kit (Combat Engineer)
DP- Democracy Protects
SA- Servo Assisted
(I don't believe there are any more passives at the moment but if there are let me know)

Anyways, onto the main issue, In the Helldivers Mobilize warbond, on page 8, is the Combat Technician armor. Now the first weird thing you'll note about this armor, is for some reason it has the scout armor passive, which seems to be flat out incorrect, it isn't named like scout armor (trailblazer, infiltrator and combat technician?), it doesn't really look like scout armor, and it throws the balance of the warbond completely out of whack. Why would you get 3 scout armors yet only 1 engineering kit armor? Why are two scout armors with identical stats next to each other in the progression tree? Clearly this armor was designed to have the engineering kit bonus due to it's location in the warbond, as the last 5 tiers share similarity to the first 5 and you'd get the 2nd set of engineer armor after the 2nd set of scout armor and before the 2nd set of medic armor.

Alright, so it has the wrong stats, big deal. But then you look at the name. This isn't the CE-04 Combat Technician armor this is the SA-04 Combat Technician armor. So if you go by names, then this armor should have the Servo Assisted perk. Now obviously this doesn't make a lot of sense, the Servo Assisted perk seems to be exclusive to the Steeled Veterans warbond (and superstore armor but we'll get to that) and looking at the Steeled Veterans warbond, all the armor has one thing in common, a robotic arm (hence the Servo Assisted perk giving bonus limb health and better throw distance.) So why did it have this prefix on it at all? It clearly couldn't have possibly been intended to have the Servo Assisted perk. I have a handful of going theories on this.

1. The armor was a beta version of the Servo Assisted Armor for Steeled Vetrans, before they had the robot arm idea, they kept it's initial name and put it in the Helldivers Mobilize warbond, somebody saw it had the SA perfix and gave it the Scout bonus because they got mixed up.

2. The armor was initially going to give the Servo Assisted bonus, but they decided last minute to make it a SV bond exclusive, this is why the Steel Trooper armor is just the basic B-01 tactical with some extra belts and robot limbs, because they didn't have time to make another full set.

3. The armor was simply named incorrectly and should have had the prefix CE

Now all that is fine, but then once you look at some of the superstore armors, you'll notice some of them have incorrect prefixes as well. So far I've noticed 2:

1. The B-24 Enforcer set (Has the Fortified perk)
2. The FS-61 Dreadnought set (Has the Servo Assisted perk)

Now obviously both of these were designed to have their prefix perk and not the one they were given, just look at how the armor is designed, you can tell that the B-24 Enforcer takes a lot of cues from the Basic Tactical armor (same belt, suit, armor on the legs) and it's helmet is similar to the B-08 Light Gunner (which does have the correct perk). As for the FS-61 Dreadnought, it has a lot of jagged edges and thick plating like the 2 fortified armors in from the warbond, furthermore it doesn't have the trademark robot arm from the other Servo Assisted armor, and in general doesn't seem to go for the high tech design as much as the SA armor sets do (The SA-04 Combat Technician also doesn't follow this design trend)

The only reason I can think of that that they would do this is that they wanted unique stats on superstore armors so that you weren't getting similar armor to what you had gameplay wise. You already have medium armor with extra padding (B-01 Tactical) and Heavy armor with fortified (both Marksman and Battle Master) so switching the perks out was to make the armor more appealing to purchase (although technically the B-24 Enforcer did have unique stats, it has 129 armor rating and 471 speed compared to the B-01 Tactical's flat 100 (before the +50 from extra padding) and 500 speed.) Also, why give away the exclusive armor perk from Steeled Vetrans to a random superstore armor?

Overall, the armor in this game is very clearly being implemented incorrectly, I hope that they fix it to make it have the correct values, although I don't think they will, as people will likely not like having armor with a set perk suddenly be swapped for another one. At the very least they could change the names to be correct (and obviously fix the SA-04 Combat Technician to have the correct perk as that is obviously and egregiously wrong).

Gonna have to come to terms with the fact no one gives a ♥♥♥♥ and that you wrote all that for nothing
