Nerf or rework the Arc Thrower
First of all, no. I'm not a provocateur and I'm not trying to collect points. Ignore the awards, but if you really want to throw a clown award, then just call me that in the comments.:steamsalty:

Secondly, I don't want this weapon to be "killed". I just want it to be made safer for my teammates. Many times I've killed allies who weren't even visible to me. Once I killed a guy who was literally standing behind me. The same thing applies to me. I'm also often killed with this weapon, but I can't blame the players for that, since it's too unpredictable weapon.

What would I like to change about this weapon? I would honestly like it to either reduce the number of lightning jumps, or reduce the range of this jump. I would continue to use this weapon with pleasure, even with such changes. It copes well with hordes of small and medium-sized enemies. It's not as good at killing Titans and Chargers, but it's capable of it.

If you think this is overkill, then another option that I came up with is to add an additional "safe" mode that would include all of the above changes. This way we could adjust its killing power depending on the presence of allies nearby.

Thanks for attention. I will be happy to listen to your options for changes, if you have them, of course.:heart_abs:

I can get behind a safe mode arc thrower. Reduced range and no bouncing in exchange for not cooking teammates. Pretty good way to give it training wheels while people get used to it, without making it a worse gun for people who are good with it.

The weapon is fine.

The kill rate of team mates is extremely low... IF YOU KNOW HOW to use the weapon.

Of 100 matches it happens rarely, around 2-3 matches at worst.

Learn how to use it.

I have the exact opposite situation. I have about 100 allied kills for 2-3 games.

As I said above, I try to stand as far away from my allies as possible, but in most cases it doesn't just depend on me. It's just very difficult to use it in a bloodbath, which happens on difficulty 8-9. Not only do I have to adapt to my allies, but they also have to adapt to me.

In recent missions, I just ran separately from the squad. It works, but then we come back to the problem of team play.

Dont worry it's gonna get nerfed.
Chaos Mar 9, 2024 @ 7:22am
If you and your team understand the Arc, then tk will rarely happen.
So no thanks.

What's funny is, it can apparently zap people inside mechs.

This sounds more like a bug than an actual balancing issue with the weapon. I think the arc thrower is in a fine place right now, but it definitely shouldnt kill people behind it's user.

Maybe change the UI reticle so that it shows whether teammates standing on the sides are in the "danger zone"

That's the problem. I can't control the people in the team, but I could control the shooting mode, then the problem of teamkills would fall entirely on me and I would completely agree with that.

As somebody who has been tk'd by these a lot lately (damn you arcthrower meta) I think the weapon is mostly fine.
It is pretty damn good and the trade-off to that is that it can kill your friends very easily if you aren't careful.

Nerf this nerf that. :D Oh man i "love" these people. If you think something is too powerful for your taste.
Don't play it.

This isn't a PvP game. Go back to Fortnite or CoD or BF or whatever if you think it is.

Arc thrower isn't stupid proof. True. But if you using it you can still manage not to kill your team mates.

You probably haven't fully read the post. I mostly just want to add a "safe" shooting mode. The weapon is good in its current state, but I feel like I'm spoiling other players' gaming experience with my choice of weapons.
