The kill rate of team mates is extremely low... IF YOU KNOW HOW to use the weapon.
Of 100 matches it happens rarely, around 2-3 matches at worst.
Learn how to use it.
I have the exact opposite situation. I have about 100 allied kills for 2-3 games.
As I said above, I try to stand as far away from my allies as possible, but in most cases it doesn't just depend on me. It's just very difficult to use it in a bloodbath, which happens on difficulty 8-9. Not only do I have to adapt to my allies, but they also have to adapt to me.
In recent missions, I just ran separately from the squad. It works, but then we come back to the problem of team play.
So no thanks.
Maybe change the UI reticle so that it shows whether teammates standing on the sides are in the "danger zone"
That's the problem. I can't control the people in the team, but I could control the shooting mode, then the problem of teamkills would fall entirely on me and I would completely agree with that.
It is pretty damn good and the trade-off to that is that it can kill your friends very easily if you aren't careful.
Don't play it.
If you think something isn't powerful enough for your taste. Don' t play it.
This isn't a PvP game. Go back to Fortnite or CoD or BF or whatever if you think it is.
Arc thrower isn't stupid proof. True. But if you using it you can still manage not to kill your team mates.
You probably haven't fully read the post. I mostly just want to add a "safe" shooting mode. The weapon is good in its current state, but I feel like I'm spoiling other players' gaming experience with my choice of weapons.
