Team-mates can't use your Strategems. Besides, this was an option in Helldivers 1. You can even make it funny by having the Mech stop and the player character hang out the back holding the orb and doing the arm motions.
I doubt this is going to extend to carry items, though. Those are designed to limit your weapon selection, so allowing them to be carried inside mechs rather defeats the purpose. It runs the risk of making Mechs feel "mandatory" for missions with carried items.
Ammo recovery for Mechs is unlikely to ever happen. Though squishy, they're quite powerful. Their use is similar to that of the Orbital Laser - call them down, resolve a situation, abandon and carry on on foot.
I could, however, see a Strategem specifically designed to repair and restock vehicles. Probably in the form of a backpack. My proposed design would be to call the backpack down empty, then require the player to stop it up with ammo, grenades and stims to the tune of a full Resupply Drop in order to "activate" it. Once active, it'll fully restore the next vehicle that the player boards.
That seems like a costly enough proposition to offset how powerful something like that would be.
Doesn't blow up dropships, I do find this to be odd.
Edit; It does blow up dropships, it just takes 2 missiles to the engine than a Recoiless.
Stratagems? Yes, need to be able to use those.
Armour? I think some equivalence of medium would suffice, but I also don't think it strictly needs to adhere to the same rules. I just think automaton small arms fire should basically bounce off. It is a vehicle after all, shrugging off small arms fire should be the bare minimum it can do. Oh and that applies to friendly small arms fire too.
Ammo? Agreed. We have plenty of rockets, considering they're anti-tank. But the machine gun is unsatisfying because it runs out so fast. Either a larger starting supply (it's slightly absurd for a vehicle to be carrying so few rounds) or some ability to resupply them.
Visual customisation? HELL YEAH. As a furtherance to this, MECHS NEED CAPES! The lack of capes is disgustingly undemocratic.
I don't think we're ever likely to see enemy armour mechanics applied to us. Allowing players to ignore damage from some enemies has too many potential edge cases. I doubt we'll ever see "armour" in that way - but the thing can definitely use more health, at the very least. And maybe a safety fuse on the rockets.
We need 2-3 other, better mechs and when those come out this one needs to have a 5 minute CD and a limit of 4 (with the new ones having the limit of 2).
We need one that has dual auto-cannons and one that has a railcannon and grenade launcher or flamethrower. For sure, I would also like to see one that has a bigger, better laser cannon and arc cannon.
I imagine when vehicles drop you can drive/ride around with the SSD. So then the idea that you can't get driven while having the SSD is going to be silly.
Yes.
Please, like HD1.
They're simply vulnerable to certain types on damage, and highly resistant to others.
Meh.
Would be fun, the shield works.
Skins will likely be in the new WB.
