Citizen Advisory: The C-01 Permit Explained. PLEASE READ!

It has come to our attention that some citizens may not fully understand the purpose and laws related to the C-01 Permit. This essay aims to answer many common questions related to the C-01 Permit.

What is the C-01 Permit?
The C-01 permit, or "Childhood Protection Document" is a document citizens of Super Earth must fill out before undertaking any action that could result in the birth of a child. The C-01 permit was first implemented in 2084 during the First Galactic War. A copy of the C-01 Permit can be viewed here.

What is the purpose of the C-01 Permit?
The C-01 permit serves a means to ensure that every child in Super Earth has an opportunity to enjoy a safe, loving, and well educated childhood. In the past, unregulated parenthood frequently resulted in children being born into abusive, negligent, and unpatriotic families.

What are the penalties for violating the C-01 Permit?
Citizens who are found to be pregnant without a C-01 permit, will be placed on mandatory maternity leave. During this time the expectant mother will be required to remain in a pre-approved Super Earth pregnancy center to ensure the healthy development of the unborn child. After the child is born, the C-01 violator will be allowed to leave and the newborn will be sent to a Super Earth infancy center to be raised by the state. Upon reaching the age of 7 years, the child will sent to an SEAF boarding school to receive a proper education and military training. Citizens who are found to have impregnated someone without a C-01 permit will be required to pay for the child's development and education.

Can I regain custody of any children lost to C-01 violations?
No. However, with proper documentation and reform you CAN be granted a proper C-01 Permit to have and keep any future children you may chose to have. Super Earth needs citizens, and we encourage all of our citizens to raise a loving family once they have the proper authorization, even those who may have made mistakes in the past.

Why was my C-01 Permit rejected?
If your C-01 Permit was rejected, this may be a result of a perceived lack of patriotism by our automated voting systems. This can result from answering polling questions in a way that is deemed harmful to your overall community. If you find that your C-01 Permit is being rejected, please revise your answers in the next election before requesting another C-01 Permit.

I was born to parents who didn't have a C-01 Permit. Is that bad?
Not at all. You bear no responsibility for the actions of your parents. The reason you were removed from their custody was to ensure that you had a happy and well educated childhood. Super Earth values ALL it's citizens, even those born to parents who did not obtain the C-01. In fact, most of Super Earth's best soldiers were born to C-01 violators. The Helldivers in particular are almost entirely from this group.

You do not need to fill out the C-01 Permit if you are planning on adopting a child (please fill out the relevant adoption papers instead).

However, you will need to fill out a C-01 Permit if you and your partner are planning on having a biological child through the use of artificial insemination, or a "friend with benefits" as the kids say.

If you suspect your wife has conceived a child with another man without a C-01 Permit, please let us know. After she has finished her mandatory maternity leave, the newborn will undergo a paternity test. You will not have to pay for the child's development if it is proven that another man impregnated your wife without a C-01 permit.

However, if they DID obtain a C-01 permit, than there is nothing we can do.

We would recommend you get a divorce either way.

If you want to learn more about your rights and freedoms, you can speak to the Democracy Officer on your Super Destroyer. You can usually find the Democracy officer standing next to the holographic map near the hellpods.

Citizens born to C-01 violators are automatically assigned Class B citizenship. However, many have been known to earn Class A level citizenship later in life. The most common way for them to do this is to join the Helldivers like you did.

My son sits on my wife and me and spends all day playing his youth in some kind of game called "Space Marines". Can I submit his C-01 form to the Super Earth Armed Forces forcibly? Maybe serving in the cold storms of Mantez will knock the crap out of him.

If your son is a minor, feel free to transfer him to an SEAF School at your convenience. Our 12 step program is all but guaranteed to turn even the laziest of today's youth into a loyal hardworking member of Super Society.

If your son is between the age of 18 and 29, he will also be prioritized in the current draft. We offer a similar 12 step program for our draftees as well.

Everyone knows Class B is the default every child in Super Earth is born into (the only exception being a Class A child born to two class A Parents).

Class C is only assigned to citizens who have been tried and convicted of felonies and Class C misdemeanors.
