Heavy Devastator, best strats?
Headshot is the obvious one, is there any other glaring weaknesses to be exploited??

Shoot the arms off, any light pen will do it tbh. Aiming head also works but it's honestly better to get their gun out of the fight without wasting AT options on them.
All devastators (Berserkers too) are more weakly armored from stomach-down from my testing so sawing them in half also works but others may disagree, but also not as viable with the shield guys since most of it is covered by shield

Aim for their weapons first, or if you can sneak behind one with a quasar cannon its a two shot kill.

arc thrower, completely ignores the shield and armour

Best way to deal with them is to have someone specialized to bring them down. Someone with the railgun that only focus on heavily armed devastators (rocket, mg etc). Hit them in the torso with an overcharged shot and you will one shot them most of the time. Do not waste railgun shots for basic devastators.

For close quarter fights, las 16 is great to quickly blow up their heads.

As anarchy said, if you are in need to not die, you can also shot the most dangerous arm off and finish them later.

Anytime I've used the Arc thrower I've realized "I could literally kill anything I'm killing with this much faster with literally any other weapon"

The only plus is the stagger rly.

Been finding the AMR better than railgun for this tbfh.
Regular devs stop spawning above 7 difficulty btw.

I just shoot them twice/thrice with my autocannon. The first shot staggers them to get their shield entirely out of the way, the second either kills or damages and staggers, the third always kills.

Regulars devs will keep spawning above 7 difficulty so it's always possible to waste railgun shots on them. They are just more rare but they are still there and sometime they spawn in masses.

For the DMR, yes I like it to but I havent' played it a lot. I guess it probably requires more aim and precision in general, but I do not find it a quick solution as the railgun. That is personal taste I guess...

I don't use any of these tactics actually, cause most of the time we try to bring down dropships before they land and I can deal with most of the devastators with the las 16.

They absolutely do not spawn on 9, 8 you'll see like 2 the entire game. Which practically means you'll NEVER see them.

Also, not DMR, Anti-mat rifle.

Autocannon is an easy 2 - 3 shot kill.
If you hit the head, it's 1 shot.

I mean, the DMR is also good, 3 tap head...

Both conventional pump shotguns have enough stagger that you can stagger lock devastators and Heavies, I've juggle locked 3 before while my team mates shot them in the head.
The revolver either 1 shot or 2 shots them in the head. I do like that one for the cool points.

But if i'm up close to them, its the machine pistol on single shot I love. It's roughly 4 shots to the head, and since that thing has so low recoil, it's really easy and saves ammo on your other weapons.

You're not telling me anything I don't already know, lmfao.

As a warning about "Shoot their arm off". It CAN help if it is down to that or dying.

But their wacky ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ physics can have the severed arm fire at a 90 degree angle at you from the ground.

Also don't count on cover to be a guarantee. If they get frustrated trying to decide how to path around a giant tree their guns can shoot through, they will simply teleport through it.

Basically, the second you start to drink the "Skill issues" kool aid, is the moment you will die by not keeping the jaded gamer cynicism in your heart to not be surprised enemies in videogames are playing on "Game journalist with cheat engine" difficulty.

(autocannon is more reliable than grenade launcher. only reason to use GL is if you want quick kabooms that have a harder time killing a hulk, but still have a shield pack)

Haven't been hit by their arm after it's shot off but can believe it happens given they have a bug that launches you out of the map for 0 discernible, common reason between each time it happens tbh.

I find their arm comes off incredibly easy though, so idk why you're saying "It can help" when it 100% does and makes them a non-threat.

In the sense of "When you are not certain you can just outright KILL THEM before they shoot you".

Like if you bring any of the machineguns. "Hmm, they are 15 feet away from me.... yeah I'm not making that headshot OR killing them with body shots first"

meanwhile panic M1 spam on an AMR in 3rd person and no crosshair can still get the job done unless a shield is in the way. autocannon "Why are you even aiming for the arms on purpose!?"

But something like the scorcher loves to go from "is this secretly 300 damage a shot?" to a pea shooter on their shoulders at the worst times. and as in love with "Slugger OP because stunlock!" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ people are, that is one target while you are probably busy with a bunch shooting at you.

If you have time to slowly slugger stunlock a devestator to death (as opposed to dive off a cliff and nail their face as you fall) you were not in much danger in the first place.
