The autocannon problem
Now that the devs have found a way to balance the game there is still one stratagem that needs nerfing and that is the autocannon. Even on dif 7-9 it does way to much armor damage and its almost unlimited ammo pool makes the game a cake walk.

Nerf it before it becomes the new meta

It is always the meta from day 1. If you didn't see it and you were obsessed in railgun meta, you were just bad.

It costs a stratagem slot and a backpack slot. It's fine.

Well what did you expect?
After game came out everyone was running around with autocannons because it is/was way better than any other special weapon. Then ppl got to unlock railgun and they switched to railgun.
Now that the devs nerferd the hell out of the railgun because it was used by too many people, now people go to the next in line nobrainer choice. The autocannon.

As i said in many other threads....the issue with this nerf philosophy is that if they nerf one weapon which is popular than everything else, people will switch to other weapons and the cycle will always renew.
So no. A nerf is definitely not needed. You nerfofils should finally stop and get off that cult mantra of "nerf this nerf that".
There are more clever ways.

And in what world is autocannon ammo unlimited to you?

gonna need to nerf the grenade launcher too, its a little too good and way too fun esp. combined with the supply pack. Should probably nerf supply pack too, just have it carry around a single, un-refillable supply packet instead of 4. Matter of fact the default Liberator rifle might be too good at being default, needs to be default minus. Nerf destroyers too, actually. Why does a single helldiver get access to a full scale destroyer to control, right out of training? It doesn't make sense and it's too cool, give us a rusty frigate instead and replace all airstrikes with the crew throwing rocks at enemies from orbit. There should be a 95% chance to fail a helldive landing and instantly die, too.

this would take you couple of minutes to do, video record yourself killing a single charger with autocannon on diff 7+, and we will count how many autocannon shots used in that process, note that using autocannon against titans is hilarious, don't try it.

The autocannon is pretty powerful on bot planets. Against bugs though it falls a bit short since it can't do as many things that other weapons can do better.
