360k+ concurrent players, steam charts
It's pretty much exactly as I thought. Only a small part of players being absolutely gobsmacked over the minor nerfs leaving over it (if they actualky even are). I expect every balance patch might play out out like this. Doom and gloom and talk over how in the next few days the playerbase will crash, only for nothing to happen. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's how it'll always be with anything that happens to the game. You shouldn't look at the "game master" channel, everyone goes nuts the moment Joel tweaks the numbers for planet liberation rates.

Because most players do not play on high difficulties, the proportion of players who are "Fully operational" is 13.7%, and "Ship it!" is 11.4%.

This will become a problem when most players start to upgrade to level 3.

Those players are still in the experimental phase where they think they just need to get better weapons to be more effective. Just wait until they find out the truth lol

Do you know the stats about how many players play certain difficulties?

The game is 4 weeks out. The numbers are still strong but will start to drop off over the next few months when they realize that they cant play on higher difficulty's. They will walk away, play something else.

Yeah totally not related to 'MECHS COMING'
or 'MECH PRODUCTION LINE UNDER ATTACK'
People just love railgun being nerfed and flamethrower being buffed, that's what it is

There are several reasons why the player numbers won't drop. They just announced the next Warbond, we are currently doing a campaign about the Mechs. Dropping the patch yesterday knowing the schedule of things that would start happening the day after was the perfect way to mitigate CCU drops.
If there was nothing being announced for a week after the patch it would be a much different scenario. Also the game is very new and a lot of people are still fully enjoying the game without even touching any of the 7+ content.

So after months and several balance passes and more weapons get released?

Oh no. Anyways.

I hope the patches are frequent. I really really do.

It's looking like they will be. Things are turbulent now, but the future looks bright to me. The devs seem rather decicated overall, and thr ceo himself is also pretty polite and communicative about eveything as well as receptful toward genuine and reasonable feedback. :AHHDHOMINID:

5 days ago the peak was 431k concurrent. Games in its natural decline.

helldivers 1 turned out great I do believe they will continue to work on the game and make it better, I refuse to play 7+ just because it is rather annoying, unfun, and very very stressful. Since all I need is super samples Ill just wait, they are working on it.

Mostly the problem is them nerfing a weapon that was a solution to armor spam and on top of it increasing spawn rates and making the AI more aggressive, combined with strats taking longer it was just way too much. Took all the joy outa it.
