How to fix "Content File Locked" error on the new patch

Some people, including myself, have had an issue with the new update not installing, instead of trying to track people down and responding individually, here's a post that tells people what works for me and hopefully should work for you too.

Open the log file Steam keeps at this filepath "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\logs\content_log.txt" (may be different depending on where you installed Steam) and find the entry that says: "update canceled : File commit failed: installed file locked (File locked) "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Helldivers 2\bin\GameGuard\npggNT64.des"
Again, the file path showing the problem file may be different for you, so check your own log entry to be sure.
Then, delete the file that the log says is the problem.

If I had to guess the patch is trying to replace the file with a new one and for some reason Steam's installer is having some weird file permission breakdown over that. It is part of the game's anticheat, so that kinda makes sense. Anyways, on my system, that let the patch finish installing and the game has been running fine since.
