you can "fix" it yourself by either lowering the power management setting on your pc (balanced is usually fine, but depend on the scenario) so that it limit the turbo/automatic overclock.
or you can use something like rivaturner to limit the fps of the game slightly under what your normally at so that it doesnt pull everything it can from your machine.
edit: the ingame frame limiter (not vsync but the fps limit), was bugged at some point, i dont know if that was fixed, but it used to make the cpu spin a hell lot for nothing while "limting" the frame.
but usually full shutdown with no bluescreen is overheat or an issue with power.
As i said, check the windows event log, if your lucky there might be mentions of what happening.
It doesn't really matter what you "believe"
The problem is with your PC, not the game.
Your hardware has many, many built-in protections to prevent software from affecting it like that.
You would have to go very far out of your way and specifically write some very malicious code for it to shut down PC hardware like that. It's not something that happens accidentally or from poor programming. You have to be purposely creating malware.
So unless you think Helldivers 2 is actually a virus disguised as a game, then the problem is with your PC.
welp, then sorry, but the game dev must have found some exploit targeting your motherboard specifically and are using it to prevent you from playing. thats the only logical explanation left.
