The last big public statement from the CM gave me big SBI vibes. Not saying it was influenced by SBI, but just the general tone of it seemed DEI-ish.

"We're only banning bigots, and had to restrict discussions because of the hatespeech that our devs struggled with emotionally".

Oh and who gets to decide who is a bigot? Do I get a vote? Oh, nope. Just her, and her hand-picked team.

So they'll sell a product on an open, public platform, take people's money, and then ban them with no recourse, and no refund, because they're guilty of not thinking the same way as you?

I get it, no one likes a racist. Just yesterday, I left a match 20 minutes in because some random joined and wouldn't stop screeching racial slurs into the mic. I had no desire to continue and contribute to this dude's progress.

But don't try to hide behind victimhood, or curry sympathy over mean things said on the internet. Just come out and say it. You think anyone who disagrees with you on certain issues deserves to have their money taken and their account banned.

I only have two conditions for devs adding DEI garbage:

Allow players to side with bugs or bots to exterminate human elements afflicted by DEI contagion. Just one afflicted human is enough reason to exterminate an entire planet. Once it starts, the planet is doomed anyway. Glass it.

Players that have any DEI garbage tied to their account can't side with other factions because bugs and bots would see those things as a disease/virus.

A gamer on steam (not naming them find it yourself) created a group that lists games that the company Sweet Baby Inc is involved in. It ended up with roughly 200 - ish people subscribed to it.

A dev from SBI came across the list, decided it must be banned and proceeded to create social media posts about it and report to steam.

Steam decided the group does not break TOS (because it was nothing more than a public list from the SBI website and contained nothing that SBI claimed. (racism etc...))

Again, SBI took to social media they called upon their followers to mass report the gamers personal steam account to "take away the games he loves so much"

It was at that point other gamers caught wind of it and social media commentators started talking about.

Fast-forward a little and that group has 200,000+ members (thanks to SBI's actions) - and a great number of people are calling out SBI.

So, SBI again takes to social media and uses all its influence (basically the entirety of the main stream gaming media) to push a narrative that the entire issue is "gamerGate 2.0" and is a far-right, sexist, racist, hate-group attacking poor unsuspecting devs because of their racial or other group in an attempt to erase them from the gaming industry.

This is also following two videos from an ex-SBI employee who is now the lead dev on Marvels Black Panther game (upcoming) - stating that she doesn't hire people of a certain perceived racial group. The other video is talking about how they essentially strong-arm studios to use their services.

I guess the threat there is that they will use their journalistic control to brand the studio some *ist / *obe.

So the why, is because they are some of the most hateful and toxic people to walk the earth and no one wants to give those people money. They have also displayed how much the industry media is in their pocket.

If you don't care about any of that.. then sure "nothing wrong".

Don't waste your time on that guy, you won't convince him of anything.

I think there is a resurgence of anti-palestinianism because at this point in time Isreal has not yet learned how to be multicultural. And I think Hamas is going to be part of the throes of that transformation, which must take place. Israel is not going to be the monolithic society they once were in the last 70 years. Hamas is going to be at the centre of that. It’s a huge transformation for Israel to make. They are now going into a multicultural mode and Hamas will be resented because of their leading role. But without that leading role and without that transformation, Isreal will not survive.
