Content file locked.
I tried updating last night and i have it saying content file locked. I tried launching steam in admin but no dice.

I fixed it by deleting the file that was locked or whatever. Seems to get replaced in the update anyways and I had no issues after, install finished and the game has been running fine since.
Steam keeps a log file for download errors at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\logs\content_log.txt" I went there and found the entry "update canceled : File commit failed: installed file locked (File locked) "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Helldivers 2\bin\GameGuard\npggNT64.des""
find your entry that says "update cancelled : File commit failed: installed file locked..." copy that file path and delete the file there (might be different than mine because I have my steam games on a different drive), the update should finish and the game should run fine.
