Heavy armor still meh?
I honestly feel like a liability running around with it on if I try playing Helldive difficulty.

yeh. is a little worse than 'meh', but yeah is meh

Its not that great. The only place it seems to be viable is against bots.
Now dont quote me here but i THINK bots cant crit. I think you can only have crits hit you with melee attacks.

The Heavy fortified can take a rocket to the face and your still at half health.

Yes, it does help against hunters and stuff like that but everything that one shot you before will still one shot you. As always the best way to reduce the damage an attack does is to simply not be hit by it.

was hoping this updated would have made it much better... its SLIGHTLY better than it was before....slightly...like basically no its not better...sad because its my favorite set.

Yes, still useless.

It can deal with small arms fire, but you'll be 1shot by the big guns most of the time anyway.

The RNG savior armor is much better than heavy armor. At least the chance of death isn't 100% when you get hit by something big.

just dont use it, you take too much damage from the loss in speed.
Here is a video showcasing it.
and it does not protect your head for what ever reason.

Heavy armor with a ballistic shield for bots is pretty good. But against the bugs whatever is causing the critical damage multipliers needs to go.

Personally i like heavier armors against bots and light armor against bugs.

"Let me explain,

before the patch we had to use the shield due to the amount of HP we had.

after? well turns out the "Broken Armor" we had was in fact 150. thus every single armor is a down right downgrade. only Med with padding or heavy have 150. med has 100 and light has 50.

heavy is completely useless due to the med armor having 150 basically.

we were expecting for Heavy to have much more armor not the same. we didnt expect the med armor to also be less then what we had to start with.

no armor in the game got better after this update. the Default armor stayed the same due to their padding and everything else got downgraded ether by states or being pointless."

So basically the baseline of armor before this massive ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a patch
Was heavy.
Heavy armor was the default everyone had, regardless of light/medium
So, now
If you want the DEFAULT armor we had before, you have to take slow heavy armor
Now everything, medium and light, dies waaaay faster.

They made all armor worse.

I didn't know headshots were a thing.

But yeah, I've noticed it ingame as well, youll often take a ton of damage suddenly, probably from a headshot, so it's quite useless.

I'm not sure if they can be fixed by just inscreasing numbers, the entire armor and damage reduction mechanic probably needs a rework.

Just tried it out, seems bad. I like the light armour only because quickness is a benefit in this game
Myth Alric Mar 6, 2024 @ 4:04pm
It is a trade off, do you want more protection or speed? You don't have to run around like crazy, that is a playstyle choice.

Except thats not really the choice we are getting, taking armor you are incredibly slow, and only gain like 1 maybe 2 more hits from it.
But then here is the issue, because you are moving slower, you get hit more.

Yeah none of this is true.
We had effectively 100 armour before.

Fully tested it myself.

Previously it took 6 light attacks from a scavenger to kill you.

Now:

Light armour set (50 armour) - 5 hits to kill you
Medium armour set (100) - 6 hits to kill you
Heavy armour set (150) - 7 hits to kill you
Heavy + padding (200) - 9 hits to kill you

It's extremely unlikely to take that many hits without one of them being a crit or a heavy attack though so you're usually going to be looking at a range between;

Light armour set (50 armour) - 3-5 hits to kill you
Medium armour set (100) - 3-6 hits to kill you
Heavy armour set (150) - 3-7 hits to kill you
Heavy + padding (200) - 3-9 hits to kill you

just wear the bubble, it went from 6.5sec recharge to like 11.5sec recharge , still better than armor.
