Tested Flame Thrower on Chargers
It''s viable enough but needs to slow or cripple Chargers. At least when they're being hit with it long enough. Right now they're so kamikaze with fire. They don't care that this hot beam of light is blasting them in the face which will lead to their inevitable death. And they turn so sharp making evading them not as useful when they're on fire.

This is the problem with both fire and gas. It doesn't affect bugs at all besides doing damage. Even if all survival reflexes were suppressed by the Hive Mind, no biological organism can just tank fire or a lung full of acid.

the big change is they need to up the damage 100% not just 50% and its range should be 3 times as far... you have to stand next to them to make it work.. its still useless.. and the changes they made to the railgun are a joke its totally useless now also.. and im not impressed with the changes they made to the chargers that they dont mention.. they hit harder and they turn faster. like what are these devs thinking what a screw up this patch was.

I'd like to see more CC added to the game and you make a great point about the gas as well. It should slow or cripple them like the EMS does. EMS mortor, strike and tesla shouldnt be the only CC options. We need more Crowd Control.

I've yet to try the Rail Gun since the patch, but Flame Thrower feels better. It just needs one more thing such as a CC - slow or cripple effect to make it truly viable.

You remember flamethrowers from Aliens? They had this nice idea, that Xenomorphs were afraid of fire. Would be nice to implement this feature in Helldivers2, to allow charger crowd control. Puf some fireball to keep them away.

Imagine the bugs being aware that "fire bad" and communicate with the Hunters or Stalkers to take out the Helldiver with the fire.

Unsafe mode. The Railgun is fine. It's not as good at just hitting random pieces and killing armored bugs, but weakspots still take full damage.

I really think they need to make flamethrower knockback or slowing the enemy, right now hunter will pretty much run straight to you with fire and manage to put in quick 1-2 slash

Let's maybe keep flamethrowers in the lane of killing small stuff very well instead of being anti everything

I always seen the damage on the flamethrower as fine, it feels like it needed stagger instead

Xenomorphs were highly intelligent and had a hive mind queen guiding their every action. A charger is a big ole brute who just seems to want to run you over.
