About the armor .
Hello helldivers.
The correction of armor value has hit everyone and i have to say that...it was exatly what i expected : it's negligeable.

Light armors are still the best ones because almost everything kills you very fast and you are better off running and gunning as fast as you can and as long as you can instead of standing your ground.

The medium armor is Ok-ish because of some perks (+stims, +grenade, chance of survival) but overall, a light armor will give you more survivability anyway and the perks can be found of them too.

The heavy armor are still garbage because you simply takes so much hits because you cannot dodge properly. You also cannot disengage because you are too slow.
A light armor with a shield will protect you far more than the actual Heavy armor, sad.
The only heavy armor that makes you feel like an actual tank is the one giving you 200 armor rating+extra padding. But since you will get staggered non-stop even by small ennemies, you're just a pinata.

But maybe i'm wrong . What do you think about them ?

Just so people know the actual differences in actual survivability.

My GeForce overlay isn't working for some reason so I cant get a quick recording.
Previously it took 6 light attacks from a scavenger to kill you.

Now:

Light armour set (50 armour) - 5 hits to kill you
Medium armour set (100) - 6 hits to kill you
Heavy armour set (150) - 7 hits to kill you
Heavy + padding (200) - 8 hits to kill you

In answer to the question, I think it's fine.
It is a significant enough change in real application survivability.

You will not want to use then solo, or if you're the person in your group that goes off to do side objectives. You will quickly get swarmed on your own.

If however you are sticking to the group or using the 2&2 buddy system, it's totally fine as you have the extra cover between each other.

I think heavy armor is total ♥♥♥♥. No offense but nobody bothered to actually test them? I mean right now if you are using heavy armor you are either a masochist or ... nothing, you are a masochist. You are entering the battle with weights tied to your feet. That's it. The damage reduction, compared to medium is not worth the gimping. There are no additional reductions from types of damage like fire. The only thing is the explosion reduction which makes a way too small difference since most direct hits will kill you, like medium armor. So all you are doing is really sacrificing mobility for ... nothing.

Funnily enough the starting medium armour has armor padding, bringing it to same armour level as heavy. So you get the extra defensive stats, while retaining medium mobility.

5 shots for light and you can outrun stuff, 8 shots for heavy and you cant outrun ♥♥♥♥. Well, I suppose i'd try heavy only with automatons, neeeever on terminids.

Clearly more numbers need tweaking, but now that the values are actually doing something we can start finding out what would be a comfortable balance for the next update when its touched upon. We need to figure how just HOW tanky should heavy armor be, how much should 200 be compared to 150 which the default armor can achieve? Should each category of Light, Medium, and heavy armor have its own innate damage reduction apart from its armor value? It things like that im interested in hearing about honestly when it comes to armor.

Yeah, like I said, not worth the gimping. And trust me I tried cause I want to use heavy armor. It does not give you anything aside another shot at most and it's pointless because after 2-3 hits you are gonna stim up regardless.

I threw a grenade at the doors to open them up and get the loot, if I don't stand a mile back the grenade kills me while wearing light armour.
