If it does then you dont know how to use it. Unsafe mode.

I'll just say what I said in other posts just like this. Turn the safety off. Works as normal.
It literally doesn't work as normal. Took 2 shots on safe before. Takes 3+ shots on unsafe now. Unsafe is nerfed also.

The Railgun weapon clearly states that it focuses on Armour Penetration, so when a charged shot bounces off enemy armour, you may as well just use the basic Machine Gun you start the game with. This is why Arrowhead should give us the penetration values just like they do with the grenades, so we could make informed decisions about the guns we use. The game prior to this update was the most fun I've had on a shooter in donkeys years as you felt like a one man army, and even stronger with team mates at your side. The easy fix they have applied to nerf guns was a shortsighted view rather than a re-balance to bring all other non meta weapons up to the standard of say the breaker and the railgun and therefore could have just increased the amount of enemies that spawn to counter the new effectiveness of the weapons is frustrating to say the least. I also dont see why the Auto cannon support weapon only has Low Armour Penetraion values when it fires massive shells vs the Machine Guns rounds which has Medium Armour Penetraion, that would surely make it a viable weapon vs the Railgun.
Clearly don't know how the Railgun works, unsafe man ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ use unsafe.

I am going to assume you're actually responding to the OP and not me because if that's the case, I don't think you read the notes. "To that end we have changed it so that the safe mode is capable of penetrating medium armor, such as Automaton Scout Walkers, but not more heavily armored enemies like Chargers and Bile Titans. For those targets you now must run it in unsafe mode and overcharge it".
you're leaving out the last bit :)
In addition we reigned in the Railguns ability to damage massive body parts, meaning to get any real efficiency out of it you must score hits on heads and other weak points.

charger legs for example aren't considered a weak point untill after you break off the armor, so even on unsafe it takes more to break em
^^^^^^
This is somehow something a lot of people are missing, have none of the people liking the nerf actually played with it or something?

Going to be repeating what I said in another thread but yeah I also agree the Railgun needed a tweak, it was too effective in safe mode but the change done to it now is simply waaaaay too much in the other direction.

The change the Railgun could/should have gotten was safe mode still penetrating heavy armor(its the whole purpose of the weapon!) but needing somewhere around 4-5 shots to take off the leg or body armor on a Charger. Then make the unsafe mode behave as it used to do, 2-3 shots(based on charge level) to remove the armor.

With how it is now, needing ~4 unsafe shots just to get rid of the armor is such a massive risk for relatively low reward. If you do blow up, you die but even worse is that the Railgun itself blows up and its not available until you can call down another one.

With such a extreme risk like "oh now you do not have a support weapon lol!" the reward should honestly be more like 1 tapping the armor with a high charge shot, not 3-4.

Now unsafe doesn't penetrate until you're on the brink of exploding. I'd be all for the changes if they also buffed the other weapons to make them effective. You're gonna get run over hosing a charger with a flamethrower. The laser cannon still stinks. Spears run out of ammo after 2 heavies. The arc thrower doesn't have the DPS. Kiting groups of armored enemies waiting for strategem cooldowns isn't fun

Literally every point is a weak point when you break their armor. That last part isn't anything new. Every weapon does more damage when you target a weakpoint... that is what a weak point is.

still doesn't change the fact that it does less damage now, so it takes more shots even on unsafe, making it infact not the same as before.
