In addition to being a player quality of life thing, a transmog system would give us something to spend all this unused currency on that's been setting at max capacity 500, 500, 250, on and off for weeks now. Pay the armory guys a little requisition and they hook you up with new paint for the armor and they can dye your cloth parts.
Adding a section of the ship where you can modify and change color of your armor would be pretty neat!
Moreover by using samples to upgrade the armour, would add another layer of strategy to the game as well.
Or simply swap the current bonuses with new ones instead of re-rolling.
Maybe the passive bonuses could be swapped with different 'modules' like the ones with already have (only those new ones would ACTUALLY worth something), adding those extra perks.
I love running light with stealth/scan, but the ones we get are kinda "eh" visually. Be nice to apply a different one visually.
Yes, armor transmog, please.
