Laser cannon is pretty good vs medium bugs. Especially spewers. Its also really good at killing shriekers and their nests, along with spore towers

Just use the flamethrower and you can melt everything but a bile titan. For the bile titan just use a rail cannon orbital strike or 500 kg bombs.

It's good at killing anything up to a charger. I don't think you can kill bile titans unless they're already damaged but also haven't damaged the stomach bits. It can kill chargers by shooting the back legs and aiming for underbelly, and it will kill anything under that. For brood commanders, big red guys, just remember their head pops first and they get very angry

It's good against Chargers.
1 shot to the ass, you will need to aim well and it will take almost the whole battery, but it is quite effective.
2 BEST use the Chargers bug on the turn. When the charger runs past you and brakes, as soon as it's skidded start shooting at the front paw on the side closest to you when turning. He'll turn toward you on that side. Keep your sights on paw, don't release the trigger. By the end of the turn, he'll be dead. Against the titans

Laser cannon is a good weapon. It lacks 15% damage to be excellent. Remember that it is a machine gun with infinite ammo and strong armor penetration. Its monstrous range is much longer than you'd expect. Shooting down smoky mushrooms and shrikers nests is very handy.

Man, you really have to read the update changelogs... You can't be spoon fed every info. It's mentioned that they buffed armor penetration up to ***MEDIUM*** penetration. Meaning it won't do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ against heavies like charger or bile titan.

It can solo chargers on its own by shooting their back legs/stomach. It can also take out the spit sack on titans, which is important to killing them.

The weapon effectively kills everything but the Titan. That is, literally all enemies except one.

Keep in mind it isn't the best for all planets is the other weakness. On hot planets, you can have difficulty keeping effectiveness. Especially higher difficulties.

VS bugs, I have found I prefer the machine gun. Laser Cannon is nice for taking out spore towers and such from a very long range, but vs swarm, machine gun is my go to.

However, the precision capabilities of the laser makes it oh so sweet for popping heads of automatons.

I use it all the time good va most and chargers just shoot it in the ass until it takes a nap but if someone else breaks the leg armor then target that

it is medium armor pen. quite effective against bots. though vs bugs. usually people bring a lot of anti tanks anyway. so just use it versus the shrimps(red bug with med armor) and the flying bugs. it can also take out the flying bug nest and mushroom.
