People rushing objectives and ignoring everything
Hello,

Why do people do this ? Do they just play the game for numbers or something ?

I am playing with my friend(s) and when one or two of us are missing because of life we have to get randoms and most of the people we get are completely tone deaf, dont communicate, refuse to stick together for the bigger and harder objectives, and the biggest gripe i have that they ignore all POI and bonus objectives on map.

Like I can understand some of the boring and annoying bonus objectives but me and my friends are lv50 and we are trying to get some supercredits from the points of interests on map, sometimes getting up to 10 extra medals per mission and 50 supercredits.

But people seem to completely not care, and after we are done with main objective at around 25 minutes left they solo run into extraction, call pelican and attempt to leave even without us.

Its not that we just want to farm but we want some variety in our game, do different things and generally have fun. (Helldive difficulty btw)

The random(s) are always asked to stop calling ext and tell them what our plan is but nobody seems to care to even acknowledge it and its getting to the point where we started to kick people when they try to end missions prematurely. (Also no, we refuse to do the mind numbing grind at lv1 Trivial mission, I would rather play other game than do that)

(also I am aware of the permanent pelican strategy, and I can tell you from watching the map nobody actually does that from my experience)

Edit: people, I dont have problem with people doing the main objective first, I have problem with players leaving right after with lot of resources left

If all you want is poi stuff, then farm that on a lower level. You can get 1000 SC in about an hour.

Otherwise, it's pointless on difficulty 7+. You'll run out of reinforcements or time, especially if you have randoms on your team.

I personally play only on helldive if i'm not playing with friends etc. who don't like to play diff 9. I always ignore side ob and only grab samples or poi if they're near me/find them. Just because it's genuinely a waste of time and way more efficient to just finish and do the next mission, even if you're not cap on everything. Of course do i look for samples etc. if my teammates need them, or do the side ob real quick. I don't play with randoms since it's just misery (game crash, get sent to your ship etc. and waisted your time) but i also don't struggle with being just 2 poeple. I also do main ob alone or secure the samples and exit if needed, but of course in a team aswell. Had both warbonds done a month ago and finished the new warbond in one and a half days, never need anything so i'm just f around on any diff alone or with friends etc.

Many people simply don't know what they're doing and think way too much of themselves.
Just usual teenager, tryhards and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who don't give a f* (skill issue) not much you can do, sad i know.

Simple:
Sidemissions are situational, often making the mission harder, not easier.

Destroying bases makes no sense at all. Destroying them spawns more enemies and patrols.
So yet again, making the mission harder (until you meet a threshold).

POIs like Vaults are important though.
I dont care about the 10xp and 100 gold you get for something pointless (hence me ignoring sidemissions and bases anyway, not worth my time), but the chance of getting super credits is possibly the only valuable thing you can bring out of a mission.

You follow the logical path-flow of the map to complete the main objectives. You divert if a side mission isn't too far off. You hit a POI if it's on the way or just a bit out of the way. You need to move fast in 7+ or you'll most likely get swarmed and wipe, especially with randoms.

I dont think you understand the point, I am talking about AFTER the objectives are done, we still have reinforcements, they just try to leave with lot of time and resources left

Medal farming. Get in, get out.

what medal farming ? you stay in mission 10 minutes longer to get the POI and you get twice as many medals in the end. I dont understand this 'medal farming strats' Did some youtuber suggest this nonsense or what ?

You go into a mission, find a vault or beacon, open it, it has credits or medals.
You close the game, enter the same mission again, its the same map, repeat process.
You get like 4 times the amount compared to playing an entire mission and farming every spot on the map.
Too much walking.

Medals and Credits do not have to be extracted.
You get them instantly on picking up.
Only samples need to be extracted. And basically no one needs samples.

did you read my post whole btw ?

I didnt reply to the original post, yes i read that.
You asked "what medal farming?"
I explained that.
Dont ask about stuff, if the answer isnt what you want to hear.

You said that you get more medals out of a mission by playing 10 minutes longer and running around.
A: thats false, hence my answer and his answer and B: you dont just spend 10 minutes more doing that, because running between POIs for a mere chance for medals and credits takes longer if you really go through the map.

The answer is simple. People arent wasting time with secondaries and bonus stuff, because its a waste of time.
Newcomers do that, because they dont know better.
On top, doing these will make the mission harder, because every base destroyed spawns more enemies.
So you just go do the main objective, maybe do whats in your way and open the beacons that are in your path but then leave and do the next mission.
Doing it fast and efficient can not only be more fun as you have less walking simulator, its also far more rewarding in terms of resources.

I tend to get the main objectives done and out of the way as soon as possible. I may hit any POI's along the way but till the main is done. After that, then I wander about.

I think you are over estimating how many medals you are getting from POI.

Wow, you're lucky. Sometimes I get people from quickplay that are ignoring everything. :steamhappy:

They're running their own objective, to shoot most of the bugs.

I'm standing near bunker, reviving a dude, writing on chat "hey I need help to open a bunker". And he just runs past me to the nearest bug nest. Pew PEw PEw.
