arc thrower is pretty good, then rail, then autocannon with back pack

Depends on role in squad.
My on lvl 50 for diff 7-8-9 is slugger with stalwart and EATSs

punisher shotgun, revolver, incindiary grenades,

- autogun - excellent for closing any bug hole or automaton fabricator.

- eagle clusterbomb - just obliterate everything, and 4 uses is awesome
- eagle 500 kg bomb - or precision orbital strike - need that to destroy fabricators or bug holes
- airblast orbital drop (easy out of jail card... its just -> -> -> --- easy to remember.

Don't know what's best for you but
- Autocannon is pretty good. Need a bit of learning but it's covers almost anything.
- Arc Thrower also really great at clearing small mob and can kill chargers.
- Eagle 500KG, it's the quickest to take down a titan while has unlimited use with relatively short cooldown.
- Eagle Airstrike, Can consistently clear 2-3 ground nests if aim right, powerful enough to break chargers' back.
- Punisher/Slugger, my personal favorite. one shot to remove head up to warriors.
- Shield backpack. is it lvl20? idk. but if you're not rocking auto cannon, it's a good choice to take one. (or steal from friends, lol)
- EAT-17 is now very useful since bug's armor change. One shot to chargers head's armor and it's done (titan too, you need a bit of high ground). And you can call it often.

for bugs? I usually use autocannon (for taking down nest/spores/radio tower from afar), EAT, orbital railcannon, 500kg bomb.

if someone else already bring GL/autocannon, I usually just bring MG, EAT (yes..I always bring EAT), orbital railcannon, Shield/Rover backpack. Primary is always the Breaker.
DarkFenix Mar 24, 2024 @ 6:25am
Primary: Slugger - medium penetration, long range, massive damage and stagger. Deals extremely well with all mid-sized enemies, can be wasteful on small.
Secondary: Redeemer - no-brainer, the other secondaries suck. Efficient at dealing with hunters and small bugs.
Grenade: Impact or HE - Impact is better against bugs, HE is safer and better against bug holes, take according to preference, impact is probably a little better overall.

EAT - probably the best all-round AT option right now. Two shots you can drop every 60 or so seconds. One shot kills a charger, two kills a bile titan.
Railcannon strike - don't have an EAT handy? Delete something with this, fast, accurate, superb damage.
Gatling sentry - defending a point? Dump one down. Squad just aggroed a patrol you don't wanna be bothered dealing with? Dump one down. Need some fire support clearing a POI? Dump one down. Shrieker/stalker troubles? Dump one down. A trash-clearer extraordinaire, just make sure you clean up bile titans/chargers before you deploy it, it'll focus them and do nothing.
Guard dog rover - Slugger isn't so great at clearing large waves of trash, this comfortably makes up for that and then some. It'll cut through small enemies and hunters like they aren't there and give you some help on larger enemies too.

That's my all-round setup (for bugs at least), I can take it into more or less any mission and expect to succeed.

FYI Arc weapons have been causing game crashes. I like them too but the devs have suggested we avoid using them until patch fixes them.

You can read the dev discord message here:

Depends on your role, but I find the EAT quite versatile. 1) It can be called in regularly and you can spread it across the map so you and your teammates will usually have it available when moving from objective to objective 2) Decent against heavily armoured enemies 3) If you're quite good at sticking it to chargers, you can use it as a makeshift orbital rail cannon. Orbital rail cannon is very reliable for taking down bile titans, in a shot or two, but has a somewhat long cooldown. Lastly, probably somewhat less popular options, but because of the area damage and cover it can sometimes provide, I like using the 500kg bomb and 380mm barrage. They're not super accurate, and you have to be careful to give your teammates some warning and a wide berth when you throw them (especially the barrage), but they're decent for softening up bug nests, thinning out enemies while you are retreating, and if you place it right, can take out heavies. Then again, when thinking about my loadout, it is somewhat skewed to tankbusting, and a hit and run kind of strategy haha.

If you can handle no backpack utility, Autocannon is the king of "Support weapon as SUPPORT" because spitters spam and walkers with no exposed skull weakpoint are a real headache if you let them pile up, or have no other way to deal with them spawning on top of you. 10+50 is also so much ammo that at times I end up having to shoot trash with it after my primary and secondary are empty thanks to people who think "Lone wolf pro" means "call every support pod to themselves only"

Hell, extraction can have the game remember it can basically cheat and just create a breach from nothing of direct a dropship directly above the landing pad. oh boy three devastators suddenly body blocking the dropship ramp, wonderful.

(I used to adore EAT. My first titan seen and killed was feeding it one. but debuffs spam and now "needs 2 rockets to kill a single one of a group of flying bug nests" means even the eat buffs leave it lackluster dealing with spam spam spam. even after the devs put randomizer in time out)

It really depends on the enemy and difficulty level but here is my general gear:

Breaker/Sickle
Machine Pistol
Impact Grenades

1-6:
Eagle Strike
Shield/Laser Drone
Grenade launcher
Gatling Sentry

7-9:
Eagle Strike
Orbital Rail Cannon
Recoilless Rifle
Gatling Sentry
I love running GL, Supply Pack, Railcannon Strike and EAT for bugs. You just have so much versatility and can close large nests in seconds. For automatons I usually like Autocannon with whatever im feeling

IMHO:
Primary of your choice + complementary secondary of your choice. This should give hord clear and armor piercing. Say a Slugger + P19 or a Breaker + Senator.

Impact or Frag Grenades depending if you need more horde clear or anti armor. EMP can work (EMP + Gasstrike/Orbitalgattling for hordes or EMP + 500kg for Bile Titans).

1 Support Stratagem depending on group needs. EAT or Recoilless if solo, to objective snipe.
1 Sentry (Autocannon or gattling/maschine gun) to support or divert
1 Eagle Strat (Clusterbomb/Napalm or Airstrike/500kg depending on mission need)
1 Orbital (Gas/Airburst/Precision or Railcannon/Orbitallaser/walking barrage depending on the airstrike you picked)

Orbital and Airstrike should be 1 Antihorde (Ihmo orbital work best) and 1 big enemy/objective. Personally i tend to use Air burst and 500kg or Airstrike.

Railcannon strike makes chargers / Hulks sad. It's a longish cooldown though.
Shield is flatout useful. Because when a hunter leaps three miles and tags you in the back, you aren't slowed if it's up.

Also bullets.
If your willing to throw down 1000 super credits [through whatever means you acquire them.] The laser assault rifle is fantastic as a main weapon. The punisher is fantastic specifically for bots [Headshots on Devastators make them sad.]
If you'd shy away from that suggestion, I'd suggest The Redeemer as sidearm of choice, and the breaker. It might have been nerfed but it's still good at it's job: Killing things that want to rip out your kidneys by hand.

I'd also recommend the 500kg bomb. And then spending samples to acquire two of them [bottom of the air upgrade tree] Sure it's short ranged despite it's flashy appearance. But it can drop a hulk or titan if they're near the center.

I usually take a support weapon of some variety [Autocannons' fantastic, Railgun needs some love but that's probably just because I got too use to the old railgun. Spear needs to be fixed/fun to use if you don't mind having toe waggle and mess around with it. Flamer is great for bugs if you get used to it.]

Supply pack is nice for Dru- Helping your team :) [if your on PC, 5 key lets you eat a supply, they are equivalent to one of the supply packets in an actual resupply pod. It helps alleviate any ammo, stim, or grenade 'shortages.']

Personally I shy away from the rovers, but I know they can do good work. It's just that they keep blasting me in the face.

But the *real* advice I can give you is this: Your equipment is a tool kit. If your main weapon fires slow but precise shots, account for that. If your main weapon is a proper rifle, maybe take a slower firing secondary?

Anti Armor is a must-have at higher difficulties. As bulks and titans aren't out of the ordinary.

There is none. What do you like to use? What are your teammates using and how can you compliment that? What mission type is it? What faction? What difficulty? Which specific enemies do you need to focus on?

The only caution when choosing a loadout is to avoid strategems that will cause excessive friendly fire unless you know how to use them properly (ie, mines and mortars), and to make sure you have some kind of weapon to deal with heavy armor, because bile titans can't be killed by any primary I know of, and even if chargers can be killed by primaries it isn't fast enough to deal with more than a few at a time.
