The game is a gun reload simulator?
The higher you get in levels the more reloading. The constant reloading is tedious and fun removing. I guess in the future they have digressed from 20th century and don't have bigger magazines or expanded mags?

Even in 1987 they invented a 100 round c-mag for the m16. There are shot guns today with 15 round mags. In Aliens 2 the Pulse Rifle stored 99 rounds and 4 grenades, the M56 heavy smart gun stored 500 rounds.

Only a few guns feel fun to use. Gun design seems like an afterthought leaving only a few worth playing which gets real boring quickly for a shooter game. I think they should have done classes like Battle field to make the player feel more unique. I think it would be really cool to be an engineer, medic or a demolitions expert in the game vs pick my loadout like everyone else.

Its fun but and a great entry to the market but if you are vet of first persons with countless options of weapons, load outs and weapon tweaks, you will become dissatisfied with in a week. I think this game is good for gaming as an industry as competitive games will take notice of some of these great ideas this game has done and do it better.

Lastly the terrain clipping/interaction is abysmal leaving your pc stuck or doing the funky chicken trying to get over a mound that half a foot elevated from the ground with a bunch of baddies on your tail, which gets old pretty fast.

My positive review simply reads

"Mag's Empty"

Still the funniest thing to me.

I have a solid rig, but yes the crashes can get demoralizing.

OP you need to realize that small arms are on the bottom of the list of High commands priority. They aren't going to be sending you down with a 100 round mag (don't tell them about the Sickle) that you are just going to die and lose in a mud pit. You are as much expendable as those rifles are.

Super earth cannot afford more than 10 bullets in a magazine.

Why would anybody keep developing small arms when they have the technology to shoot lasers from orbit? I agree there's a lot of reloading of primary weapons in the game, but your argument doesn't scan.

The stalwart has 250 round mag.

I haven't unlocked all of the shotguns yet. Do any of them have less than 15 rounds? And do you realize that an assault rifle with a huge magazine is basically the Stalwart? Are you aware that a movie doesn't need balance the same way a videogame does?

For what it's worth, the dev's position seems to be that primaries and secondaries shouldn't be adequate to clear out enemy hordes. That's why they give us stratagems. Part of keeping primaries from being too powerful is adjusting their ammo. Even the laser weapons have ammo trade-offs.

The ammo makes it more important to use the call ins. Really the guns are just personal protection while you call in more orbitals. If you need more ammo you resupply, carry support pack, find ammo on map, or use energy weapons and manage heat generation. Or, since you will more than likely die before using it all, respawn with new ammo. If you are running out all the time then you are either not using it effectively or are fighting in place too long. I personally or in many of my games, have not died from lack of ammo. Sure it happens very rarely, but not unless swarmed by those damn hunters or a group that wants to stand and fight every breach and patrol. Even then, usually can get more ammo to fight. Run out of time before ammo is an issue. This is something you just have to practice more and get used to, compared to the reload every shot games of battlefield and call of duty. It adds a real sense of presence to the game. Though, they should let you reload heavy weapons like the walker and mg turrets and even sentry. That annoys me more than anything that you cannot reload all weapons and equipment, just most.

I have not died from lack of ammo, and I love calling my call ins I just feel i'm reloading too much through battles and that's not enjoyable, its tedious.

Ass dps..

You define your own "Class" with your loadout. You want to be mainly anti-tank? Bring mainly anti-tank stratagems. You want to be the guy with 4 sentries? Do that.

I'll never understand this "Give me fewer choices, Arrowhead!" argument.

After reading OPs post I can come to only one conclusion:

Not the game for you.
Go play one of the million Chuck Norris powertrip simulators out there.
