2. What's the question here?
I don't think the robots are any more difficult than the bugs, but robots are a more long range faction, and there is a lot more shooting. The bullets flying around all over the place like crazy gives a very different feel to the game.
It is definitely worth it to play against the bots some times, even if they are not your favorite.
It developed a reputation early on and I think the devs/players play into it now, which I like. Plus its jungle and Vietnam comes to mind alot as you will be ambushing them and vice versa.
Still waiting for Vietnam flashback hamster meme crossover for creek.
It turned into a slugging fest and a core number of players dug in. The bots themselves were incredibly hard to fight compared to the terminids. The ion storms were miserable and the world was perpetually in twilight, not to mention the jungle which brings up vietnam thoughts.
So the player base took it and ran with it. Especially since it was the first line of defense. Unfortunately they dug in on it even at the cost of more important sectors.
The issue is, is that on Hell Dive the bots are just really painful to fight against. Their accuracy is insane, you're constantly getting devastators dropped onto you, and I've seen bot drops spawn 2 tanks (AA tank and annihilator.) On the worlds I've fought on, there just isn't enough cover to effectively deal with a bot drop, and they just keep coming. Kinda hard to break engagement as well when their accuracy doesn't seem to drop with range, and they can see through dust/fog without issue.
