not really sure. i had a new motherboard installed and i had a professional do it.. i have no idea how to undervolt or whatever to lower temps. i just downloaded cinebench and it jumped to 100 in 10 seconds...
Then there's not much you can do, maybe ask for the professional to put on some slightly heavier cooling on it. Your 8700K was 6 cores, the 12700K is 12. I'm using a 12900K myself. It only peaks at the mid 70's with what I got on it. Cinebench is a stress test, it will show you the ceiling of where your cooling systems top out at, but it's not attributable to anything but heavy video and CAD editing.
You should have some kind of an order record somewhere. Check and see what parts were installed. Whatever's cooling your CPU should be listed on there, if it's not you should contact whoever you paid for an upgrade, give them your order number and ask them about it.
Yep, turn on VSYNC and or limit your FPS to whatever value your monitor supports. Normally 60 or 120. Uncapped FPS will top most systems out real quick.
i dont think its that.. ive never had temps that bad. i limited fps to 118 in helldivers through the control panel like i seen other threads mention but barely helped. im more concerned with the 100 temps in cinebench and 95 temps when im installing shaders in dragons dogma 2. i ran a test on intel exreme and at least its throttling when reaching high temps but i still fear it will damage it. Maybe i need a better cooler or he didnt properly place my cpu.. no way it can run this hot
What is the ambient humidity?
When was the last time you cleaned your dust filters and fans?
Where is the case located?
Does the case have good airflow?
How many intake fans?
How many exhaust fans?
How fast are those fans spinning?
And about 50 other questions.
just cleaned today.. idle temps around 30-35. Even resorting to leaving glass off and a desk fan for extra air flow. 2 cpu fans. 3 on opposite side and 1 above cpu. 3 in gpu which is fine. the airflow is as good as it gets. Maybe i need a better cooler. Fans are maxed out. forget the numbers but they are all decent mid range fans. Maybe he messed something up with the cpu installation or i got a bad one? my new fans are so loud on full blast. Before i could barely hear them when full speed. They work..Some games the temps are good. i tried palworld, sons of the forest and re4 remake. all very decent 60-72ish. dragons dogma 2 even is fine around 82-85 tops with rather decent fps. Maybe it's not as bad as i think. i cant help thinking the answer lies in the bios and i have no clue what to do in that regard. Just maybe dont do cinebench stress tests and try not to download games while playing them.. steam downloading re4 was getinng me 70-75 temps. Thats higher then the temps im getting playing the game itself..
