Most efficient method of medal farming?
Title. I'm wondering if it's more efficient to drop down to Trivial-Medium and just comb the map, or run higher difficulties only rushing objectives.
Helldive/Impossible solo is a no-go for me, and randoms are too inconsistent to finish missions quickly, or at all, with.

Map combing has been pretty consistent for me. It's not super fast, but you can at least always control the pace of your mission/don't run into terribad troll players etc

I rarely get many medals from clearing a whole map.
Thats alot of time & effort for a few medals, because you dont get many.

You would be better doing Diff 5 and quickly doing objectives, but most do Diff 7.

I would imagine the super credit farm strats would apply the same way to medals. The only real question is if it would be faster to do that or just complete high diff missions.

Supercredit Farming: Level 1-3 missions.
Medal Farming Solo: Whatever difficulty you're comfortable with, 3's can give you more medals than the reward just from looting the map, but in general the amount of Medals you get from missions is pretty balanced across the board. Best way to "Farm' them is just keep playing the game normally, complete your mission sets and loot everything on the map and ofc do your Daily Order.

Don't worry too much about grinding the game though, as I didn't really grind I just played with friends and I've managed to cap out on Samples, Requisiton and Medals with nothing left to buy.

Only thing left for me to farm is Supercredits but I've already saved up enough for the next Warbond.

One thing to keep in mind for all types of "Farming" (beyond purple samples) is that there is a bait and switch curve to loot locations.

easy has much less points of interest compared to medium-challenging, even if the dense tiny map means more odds of finding most of them. Because the map on easy is smaller.

However, once you get to even harder difficulties, if you are an honest gamer you will realize a larger number have been replaced with rubble where the loot crates used to be.

So covering 3/4 of a map on easy or medium/challenging, ends up with better odds of loot than covering 4/5 of the map on suicidal+. Because the biggest maps with the most PoI, also have the most rendered ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ worthless.

So speed wise solo JUST for medals if you can't handle solo defense after the rage patches? Probably kamikaze dropping on easy (not trivial) for single location objectives, then spicing it up with "Do I see at least 2-3 life pod lights or loot crate buildings nearby?" before *Checks notes*.... unsubscribing from life... is that what kids call eating your own hand grenade 6 times now?

Also, I have noticed the whole "Mouse over points of interest early" thing has been a bit ♥♥♥♥♥♥ since the last patch even in scout armor. Before that patch it would pop up all of them. Since the patch I can be looking right at a location, with the ? the compas, and most of the time the map tooltip will not show me a place with loot (it will always show the 2 person vaults you can't open solo, of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ course)

"I know there is a building with a loot crate over this hill, game. stop trying to trick me without a pop up it is a PoI until I step foot on it"

To avoid hating yourself. Probably limit yourself to like, 10 solo missions tops then play with groups, or play another game for a while.

Speed run objectives, ignore everything, bail once done.
Imo it's going in to the hardest difficulty you have unlocked and speedrunning the objectives, don't worry about extracting as it wastes time just blow yourselves up after the main objective is complete.

The objective/map can change the time you spend on the planet so that's your choice on how much you want to midmax it.

The same you grinde SC. Play alone on difficulty 1 or 2. Run around an watch out for the containers you can blow open. A container has 2 random items. With luck, you get 2 medals to pick up. One pick up can give you 1-4 medals. Leave map and get a new one until you get the perfect container. With extreme luck, you can get 6-8 medals. Press Alt+F4 and start the game. IF you quit the map with Alt+F4, you can replay the map again.
Select the same map. Drop on the container. Get your stuff and repeat. As long as you like.
For such a cycle, from start to quit, i need 90 secs. This would give me medals up to 320 per hour.

As long as you dont host a match. You can repeatthe map, whenever you want.

You get 8 medals in about 5 mins of gameplay playing helldive eradicate. If you have blitz in the mission set then you can get more speed running that which takes about 8 mins or so then see what the last one is and if you think it'd be worth running for 14 medals.

I complete the set usually in around 35 mins

Playing the highest difficulty level you can manage and complete all missions in the series. Starting at, i believe the 2nd difficulty missions come in series. First 2 missions, then more. Each additional mission you complete in the series you get a medal bonus.

You can go into the highest level and look for Blitz and Eradicate missions with a sub 15minute length. If you get a string with 2 of these you can maybe get the bonus for 2 missions. But you can also just do the whole series and focus on doing the Primary only, only grab MPOIs and Secondaries if they are convient (on the way)... and you can get out of a 40 minute mission in 15-20 minutes too.

So focusing on Blitz and Eradicate missions is usually a bad idea, in my opinion, as you can get extra medals from MPOIs... also you won't fall behind into the spiral of needed to farm Samples.

If you don't need Samples anymore, then farming Blitz and Eradicate is the quickest, at the highest you can. I personally would just play normally and grab MPOIs and do Daily missions and such. Might seem to take longer, but it's a lot less dull.

Load trivial, look for a cargo container with 2x medal spawns. They drop 1-3 medal per pickup, with 2 of them, you get an average of 4.

You alt tab out to close program and launch game again. Pick the same mission as it doesn't change if you did the alt tab close program, pick the drop over where you found the cargo, rinse and repeat.

A fast system (or just lower all your settings), should get a cycle in 1min 40 seconds or less, (mine loads so fast that im already on the ground because the "load screen" of the pods falling takes too long to reach the 'bottom'), at an every of 4 medals per cycle.

You should consistently be able to do 45 cycles per hour, which is about 190 medals per hour if you went hard.

The main warbond is about 2000 medals, the spares are about 500 each, so that means that you can finish everything in... 16 hours, if you so desired to hard farm medals.
