Your Best Armour - Thoughts
Just curious what people consider to be their best/most usable piece of armour?
Personally the only ones i find useful are the stats:
No bleedout damage
50% chance to avoid lethal damage.

I use an ultra light with + throw distance and limb health.

Depends on the mission. I always take heavy armor on defense missions.

50/150/550 Light Armor with Scout passive for both Bots and Bugs. Both are going to have opportunities to one-shot you regardless of what armor or passive you have, so the best approach to both factions is to just avoid putting yourself in situations where you are gonna get hit in the first place. Run away from the Bugs, and stay hidden from the Bots.

Yeah padded is the best perk in the game. Right next to Stim. just imo

Federation armour is broken with the 50% to avoid lethal damage. I've been dogpiled by bugs with grenades going off on top of me and survived 15-20 seconds from that roll just proccing endlessly. It's like Geodude's coin flip attack in the first generation pokemon TCG. Potentially infinite viability, as long as you're lucky.

I run infiltrator. I'm primarily running bug missions at difficulty 8-9, and I find being able to avoid and disengage from fights far more useful than being able to survive them. I clear far more objectives, and missions, solo than I do with teammates - simply because my teammates prefer to fight, and get stuck doing exactly that for 15-20 minutes at a time. Objectives just don't get done because they keep aggroing things and keeping fights going.

You also have the opportunity to get close and blitz bug groups before they can pop a breach, which is immensely useful in higher difficulties.

I think it depends on how I feel. I ran scout for a long time just for the stealth benefits, but with the latest update it is so easy to get one shot by heavier bots or killed by hunters.

My favorite since then has been the +2 grenades for dealing with bots and bugs. Of course for bug holes with bugs, and it's nice for dealing with a train wave of hunters and other bugs. For bots, it's nice for the factories, but also just satisfying to see them explode into pieces, also for dealing with scout walkers.
+2 nades

AND
the recoil buff

As a autocannon addict, this thing is basically a must have for a "FUN" experience +crouching

Ever since using it once I can't seem to get away from the throwing distance armour.

Long range strategems and nades are fine and all, but the most appealing thing is that I can throw a resupply pod ahead of me and keep sprinting and the pod will be there when I get there, resupplying on the move between objectives just FEELS so damn good.

The 50% chance to survive passive.

I survive so many thing with this passive, random rocket random headshot random friendly fire dmg.

The Trench paramedic (+2 stims/+2 seconds of stim effect)

The most dangerous moments are when i get surrounded, so popping a stim and having a short time of almost invulnerabilty saved me so much more than the 50% roll.

Was using Light Armor with Scout Perk before that... but since they "fixed" Armor values i feel a little to squishy in Light Armor.
I'm not sure how to feel about this. But okay.

Engineering Kit (recoil reduction/nades) is my favorite overall.
The one that does recoil/explosive resist is good for bots, and Peak Physique armor is fun for bugs. Medic is also good all around.

I used to use Democracy Protects (no bleed out/50% death resist) but if you just don't die it's useless, so I prefer to go for benefits that help me in a fight.

I usually go Light Gunner (light armor with extra armor rating) for bots and Eradicator (light armor with explosion resistance and lower recoil) for bugs.
Why not the other way around? Because bot rockets aren't nearly as threatening as they used to be, especially compared to the various chainguns. And explosion resistance covers spit attacks from bugs, which means spewers are slightly less awful to fight.

I've also been trying out the newest armor passive, Peak Physique. It's a lot of fun to use with heavy primaries and support weapons combinations like Dominator + Heavy MG for bots or Eruptor + Stalwart or standard MG for bugs.
