shriekers one shotting you
so I guess this is a reference to a scene in starship troopers where a flying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dies and flies right into someone killing them, funny scene, cool reference, but as someone who has never watched this movie before, this got rather annoying after it happened for the first time in game. Especially on helldive where im getting swarmed by a group of hunters (already an annoying as ♥♥♥♥ enemy) and have like 10 of these shrieker things circling me like vultures, only to blow ones head off with a well placed headshot as its flying towards me, and it just flies into me and im instantly dead, even though I killed the sucker.

I cant be the only one who thinks that the reference isnt worth the annoyance of just getting one shot? it would be bad enough if it just ragdolled me and led to me getting gang raped by stalkers/chargers/and hunters, but this is just overkill all for a reference. Atleast Im thinking thats what it is right? cool enemies but man this happened to me twice in a row and it did NOT feel great.

I'm pretty sure it's just a bug, literally. If you stand still and let them hit you (I was wearing medium), it takes like 4-5 hits for them to kill you. However, if you kill one while it dives on you, it will near instantly kill you. This sounds intentional until you respawn and go walk on its body, the torso, and then instantly die again. It's a bug with their dead bodies.

I think so long as it requires a proper direct hit from the shrieker it's fine, but I've seen footage of people being barely touched by a shrieker's toenail as it falls past and it still kills.

That's a thing? Yeah sounds like a bug then.

this game is not meant to be a walk in the park. its intended to be challenging. you either get good or play a difficulty more suiting your game style. mayb try 1 or 2. i dont think they are in there. how ever if you want to get your upgrades and unlocks it will take way longer and you cant buy ship upgrades as those only can be found in higher difficulties.

Also the issue you describe it sounds more like a Dsync. just try to kill it earlier it happens. sometimes the hitbox on those basterds is just weird aswell. if its dsync be sure you on wired internet and not wifi.

Before someone asks, this was on Hell Dive (Diff 9) to be clear. I have never been one shot by them outright diving, but I have died instantly when I kill them and they land on me, and I have been melted by walking on their corpses.

Well they did one shot you in the movies, don't see why they wouldn't here.

Oh yeah I forgot. You can't talk about anything remotely in a bad light or else someone will start throwing a temper tantrum like a literal toddler over your opinion

I literally explained it in the post. As someone who has never watched the movie. If this was an intended feature which it seemed to not be, it got old after the first time

they cant hit you if you are prone
Simulacrum111 Mar 21, 2024 @ 9:28pm
Use sentries. If they get close, prone, and they can't touch you. Use strategems that offer high explosive damage or heavy armor penetration on the nest to take them out fast.

Not too bad if you use the right tools.

Its more likely due to collision. Same thing happens in Skyrim, run over a bone or rock and BAM you just die. It hurts my soul you haven't seen the movie, Its really good just don't watch the 2nd one.

You have zero clue what you're talking about. It has nothing to do with d-sync and even If it did, they don't even one shot you normally, only under these circumstances. And its probably just a bug.
Also it literally has nothing to do with difficulty at all I regularly play helldive with zero problem. And this is clearly not intended anyways

Bro this is not skyrim. And what does that even mean? I've never had that happen in skyrim ever.
