Hellbomb is NOT necessary to destroy Shrieker nests
While orbital strikes and lasers take time to destroy Shrieker nests, they do get the job done. Eagle airstrikes and a couple well-placed shots from EAT-17s or Recoilless Rifles will also get the job done. Other ways such as laser cannons and mech rockets also take out Shrieker nests well.

Taking out Shrieker nests from afar is possible *AND* preferred, so save yourselves the trouble of calling in a Hellbomb and give those Terminids the ass beating they deserve.

Stay safe and spread liberty, Helldivers.

Two to three shots with the Auto Cannon from a distance does the job as well.

Are you correct on that? If so, autocannon new meta for bug missions.

More like 9 shots for EACH spire (27 shots)

EAT or Recoiless requires 2 shots each (6 EAT total)

HMG works but takes considerable amount of time

I don't find the other weapons consistent enough or really worth it to destroy their nests. I dunno how many EATs it takes, but I'm not really in the mood to wait for cooldown after cooldown to kill it. I'll just take a laser cannon and go run up and nuke it.

Just did it today. Honestly I was surprised since the Auto Cannon has been fairly 'meh' lately. But it does bring down the Shrieker Nests no problem. You can be across the map and take them out like you would a Spore Spewer.

Grenade Launcher does NOT seem to do the job, at least not in 1 clip.

Even if it's nine AC shots per spire, that's pretty good. I think I tried it but gave up because it didn't have any visible effect from three or four.

I did know bombardment strategems worked, but you have to get pretty close to land those even if it's not as close as a hellbomb.

Given how hellbombs are designed to only be large enough to risk the life of the team but not the objective. if the team isn't fully loaded with spares/ready for a supply drop as they snipe. Could be okay to long range nuke all but one, rearm, rush in to hellbomb the last one.

Or, you know. just camp out for another supply pod/more eats hoping no patrols psychic their way to you.

the autocannon has always been based for this kind of task.

Laser cannon can do it from across the map

Apparently the scorcher can 4 tap them, but I don't have it to test myself.

IMHO, they just need to BUFF THE 500KG

Just saw there is a new leaked stratagem coming: the missile silo

That might work?

I just found out HMG emplacement can take them out too, with a lot of shooting. The thing that makes it better than autocannon in my opinion is that it 1-shots any of the actual shriekers. People panic firing into the air with their sickles get rescued by 1 guy in the distance on the HMG clipping them in the wings.
