Are you shooting them down and their bodies land on you? I think that's what people are mistaking it for. Their bodies for some reason do more damage to you than their actual attack, so don't step on them or let them fall on you. Pretty sure it's a bug.
Their dead boy parts become terrain rather than a mobile monster. Terrain landing on you kills you instantly, as opposed to the relatively balanced damage they do from their normal swoop attack.
Thats why if you headdive from a mountain you dont get much damage but if a rocket explodes next to you and pushes you into a wall it obliterates you.
Same happens with shriekers, their body goes very fast so impact damage is insane, also impact damage isnt affected by armor i think. Impacts as a whole is what needs fixing asap.
Also their normal swoop attacks can kill you in one hit as well and very consistenly lol "relatively balanced" my balls
- 2 of us run in a strait line without dodging they weren't able to attack us even if they were trying
- few shots and they are dead
- in light armor getting hit means 25% to 33% HP loss
- they tend to stay near their nest but their area of effect is really small (too small) when they should be more all arround the map.
The only good thing is that it forces you to watch the sky in addition to everything else and shoot at them.
-aiming a gun up has limited angle specially when prone
-getting hit as heavy armor means instakill 1 out of 4 times because headshots ignore all armor and do like triple damage
-unlike what their name implies, they dont shriek to warn you when attacking from offscreen
-they can scout very far from their dens and kill you in 1 hit when you are trying to fight a random bile titan half across the map
-their corpses can fall on top of you
I've found that they don't spawn in if you aren't close to it. Think of how Minecraft loads a chunk. I dunno if Stalkers have the same behavior, they probably do considering how they don't appear unless you get near their nest.
