Automaton quitting out
This is a big problem i've noticed. Admittedly I am a new player, I've primarily killed bugs and had fun with it, and I've tried automatons 3 times total. 2/3 times, on challenging difficulty, the entire squad ended up quitting like halfway through the match, for example, I've had 2 squadmates quit instantly after dying in one of those forts in the "Destroy Supplies" missions. Why does this happen? If needs be I'll just wait for a new faction to drop for diversity in enemies, but Automatons so far seem like a dumpster fire.

Sounds like you just had a run of bad luck. I wouldn't worry about it too much. 3 times isn't anything, when you consider the many many missions you'll be playing in this game.

It's sadly a developing meta.

People get used to the bugs, then "try" automatons and expect them to act the exact same way.
Obviously they get destroyed and (sadly) a lot of them get pissy and instantly leave and vow to never come back ever again.

It gets REALLY problematic at higher level where queueing for automaton missions gets straight up difficult because there isn't enough players queueing for it.

I think the devs will have to check the breaches spawn which are admitedely too high right now for the automatons, and then "strongly incentivise" people to revisite them automaton missions with a Major order or something.

Maybe, and I hope so since having enemies that shoot back sounds fun, but I find it weird how after like 13 or so Bug matches, with like,
2 guys quitting out, out of all of them and 1 AFK, 2/3 Automaton missions had most the party leave midway. The most common quitting in bugs I've seen in comparison is between missions, instead of mid mission

Depends on a time of day irl and in game for me. Add to that a dust storm effect on a planed and I can't see ♥♥♥♥ if sun is shining on outside.

But yeah, bots are broken with bugged detection / spotting.
Cuz nothing sounds more fun than being headshot with a rocket from outside your vision range due to enviromental hazard that only applies to you.

They arent nearly as fun to fight as the bugs, they almost by default force you to bring one of the two shield options.

The spawn centers and some other things are very trivial to take out when you unlock the spear.

Climb mountain, drop resupply and just look around locking on half of them to one shot without moving.

It does feel like a lot of the major order stuff lately has been bug focused. We'll see what Joel brings our way I suppose.

Personally I don't mind the difficulty, honestly I enjoy circling the AT-ST looking guys to shoot their drivers off, and shooting the battery packs on the big guys, it feels like it adds a lot more to the team component and strategy. Its just hard to want to even try with the missions when said team keeps leaving

Yup, and I think it's because the devs know the robots aren't as popular for a couple of reasons (like the aformentioned breach spawn rate that is just way too high), so while they are working on the fixes they are gently incentivizing players to pay more attention to the bugs.

I can't understate how much damage the breach spawn rate did to the perception players had of the bots. The Civilian extraction mission in particular was literally unbeatable, even on lower difficulty because of the ridiculous ammount of dropship showing up with heavy bots.

It happens in bug missions as well, yesterday joined a random host, who was lvl 45, i was 30, he kept me a lvl 38 joined and his lvl 15 friend joined, host kicked the 15, the 15 rejoined he kicked again, 15 joined again, he kicked both the 15 and 38, and launched with just me and him. He ended up picking a crash landing spot RIGHT next to a stalkers den, i called my gear down, he waddled around in circles then walked away from me, i got my stuff turned around seen him walking in a direction, and seen two white blocks moving quickly behind him.

I shot the stalkers with my breaker but they insta-gibbed him, as i ran to seal the nest and call him down as i was running there, he rage quit and left the mission. He quit because he couldn't be bothered to look behind him, he lived exactly 5ish seconds from landing before he died. I ended up with 3 new teammates and finished the mission easily all samples included, dif 7+, we spent longer on his ship than with him on the field.

Fun Fact the 3 teammates i got were 18, 15, and 27 had no problems at all, only thing had to answer their question after the mission why i abandoned the operation we were in we finished the 2/3rd mission, because i didn't have that operation it was the original hosts operation which i didn't have access too.

I think the game needs separate difficulty progression with each fraction. The problem is that people kill bugs until hard difficulty and then understandably assume they can tackle bots at the same level without relearning how to deal with each new enemy type.

vs bugs you run in the open, you always keep moving. vs bots you need to stay under cover. vs bugs if you are sandwiched you can just run away, with bots if you are taken in a cross fire in the open, you are dead.

Fair. I probably don't have enough experience to know what all needs balanced, but my biggest complaint for my 3 matches was that I got sniped in the head by a robot with a S.A.M Site strapped to it's shoulder that I couldn't even see. That was a bit much

I guess I'm lucky I havent been kicked out yet then lol, since I'm only level 11 or almost 12, but in that case I guess I would've been lucky enough to not have to experience that.

I feel like bots got way harder since last patch while bugs got easier. Bugs now spawn more lesser enemies and less elites, bots seem to spawn a ♥♥♥♥ load of everything from every direction while also having way more patrols.

Maybe the explosions from detonating the munitions is making their game crash
