Honestly makes the later difficulties much easier when 1 person can make sure armor dies.
Does the grenade launcher fare well against heavy or medium armored targets?
But yea the grenadelauncher just wipes whole groups of small things with one shot & having a ammo pack makes it crazy good.
my team already beat Helldive very comfortably . here is my recommend
VS Bug
Recommend Stragem for team comp
Atleast 3 Railcannon Obital ( it a quickest problem solver )
1 Eagle 500KG ( That person much upgrade lv.3 to use two time )
2 Eagle Airstrike
1 EMS Mortar
The rest is up to you
Anti Elite role
1 person Rail gun + Shield backpack
1 person Rail gun + Ammo backpack
Small - Medium Target role
1 person Auto cannon ( must have to deal with all Big Tick Bug )
1 person Shield + Flamethrower
All person use Breaker shotgun as Primary
Incendary Breaker for Hive buster role in Egg mission only ( Recommend person that have Shield backpack )
= About Charger =
Shot their leg to break armor with Rocket or Railgun + 5-8 Shot Breaker into it is the quickest way to kill them
1 magazine of Flamethrower can kill Charger too !
you can Stick any call-in signal on their back . it can 1 shot by dropped supply over them or using precision strike as a homing missile
---------------------------------
VS Cybrog
Recommend
2-4 Eagle airstrike
1-2 Orbital Laser
1 Orbital Railcannon
1-2 mortar turret
The rest up to you
2 Person Railgun + Shield backpack
1 person Railgun + Ammo backpack + Eat-17 stragem + HMG Mounted turret
1 person Auto cannon or Recoiless rifle
= About Cybrog =
you can pretty much 1 shot everything Except tank with well place Railgun shot in the head
So it is a light vehicle removal setup, have not tried it against the robots, but i see no reason why it would not do well against them too.
Not trolling, each of your gear has a hidden weight value. The more u lug around the more sluggish you will be.
Eagle Airstrike - Anti-soft & hard targets - 3 shots before rearm - Every 8 seconds - 180 second cooldown
Eagle 500kg - Kill hard targets - 2 shots before rearm - 180 second cooldown
Railgun - Kill hard targets - Every 480 seconds
Shield generator - Protect you from being pinned down by bugs and be able to tank damage that you didn't see and could have killed you - Every 480 seconds
Armour: Light. Low detection. (Level 7 in super store)
Booster: Increased stamina and stamina regen
Marksmen rifle - Anti-soft targets
SMG pistol - Anti-soft targets
Grenade - Don't use impact. It drives me nuts, because it's worse for trying to destroy factories and bug holes.
In short, you run faster and recover stamina fast and it's harder to detect you.
You run to a location and bomb the ♥♥♥♥ out of it and then move in to clean up the enemy.
If you get spotted or need to take out a patrol then use the rifle and railgun.
I played with a team of 3-4 guys who used this exact same loadout and it was insanely easy.
You should not take the supply pack, because there's enough ammo around the map to compensate and just aim better. Stop panic firing.
Shield generator protects you from swarms and random homing missiles that hit you against bots.
If you've maxed your helldiver out then you should be able to drop 3x airstrikes and 2x 500kg bombs in under a minute. Then rearm in about 2 mins. Easy.
Now imagine that but 4x with all your team mates.
If you play smart you can solo in all different directions.
And if you're constantly catch fighting swarms or hordes due to being detected then that's a skill issue and you made a mistake.
I chose the airstrikes to take out hordes, eggs, bug hole spam and big targets of enemies. They can soften up hard targets AND take out buildings over a large area.
I chose the 500kg for anti-boss and it has an amazing AOE compared to say the orbital laser or orbital railgun cannon or 110mm bomb.
I didn't choose anything else, because they aren't anywhere near as efficient as the above.
Eagle 500kg -
Railgun -
Shield generator -
Run around and choose your targets carefully.
The way to beat this game is more about positioning and timing that shooting stuff.
And when you're defending.
Mortar turret -
Eagle Airstrike -
Eagle 500kg -
Railgun -
Make sure you and the mortar are on top of the highest point.
It's normally a place where the enemy can't reach you and your mortar and you won't get hit by friendly fire by your mortars.
Brasch Tactics.
It will tell you everything you need to know about spreading democracy as approved by the Ministry of Truth.
First, don't ever bring a sniper as your primary, bugs attack in hordes and a sniper won't be able to deal with that. For shotguns it depends, but I wouldn't recommend it either because they are close range weapons and usually when you play above diff6 and a fight goes into shotgun range your squad is doomed.
Use light armor for bug missions.
Agility, speed and stamina is key in fighting bugs, especially when combined with a jump pack you will survive much better than with heavier armor. Heavy armor is good for fighting automatons.
Keep distance and don't be stingy with your ammo.
Shoot like there is no tomorrow. Keeping bugs at distance is essential. Once they are at you, everybody will be busy running, diving and saving their ass which results in actually nobody shooting anymore.
Do not initiate absolutely unnecessary fights with random packs or patrols. It may seem like it's not a big deal at first but things can escalate very quickly and can lead to a loss of reinforcements mission time and collected probes.
If you or a team mate accidentally gets spotted by a random pack or patrol, clear it as fast as possible, don't hesitate using a stratagem on a small patrol, if you don't kill it quick enough and a bug spreads pheromons and one or two bug breaches occur, you will wish you would have used that stratagem before.
If a breach occurs, immediately unleash the hell on it, from my experience, the breach will be over quickly if every thing that comes out of it instantly dies.
Now stratagems.
Avoid anything that does not allow for agile and fluid combat, in other words anything that forces you to fight stationary.
While eagle based stratagems are one of the most powerfull ones in the game, their biggest downside is that they are limited. Personally I haven't unlocked any of them (I am lvl 20+)
If you are lvl 20+ the orbital railgun is a no brainer and a must have for every squad member (for killing those elites asap).
I strongly recommend at least 1 stratagem that is up every 60-120 seconds for dealing with breaches and when things escalate. Orbital EMS and Orbital cluster bomb are my favorites for that purpose. Avoid orbital gatling, it is to weak imo.
My setup the last few runs was:
Orbital railgun (for elites)
Orbital cluster bomb (for patrols/breaches)
Jump pack (for agility/survivability)
Flame thrower (for armored/breaches)
Optionally to the flamethrower you could use expandable rocketlauncher or railgun but these can't deal with breaches.
