There's also a game called Spacelords, which is online but seem to have been abandoned, Thankfully, Raiders of the Broken Planet which is the same game can be played offline now.
Global Agenda was put back online, which i am happy to continue playing from time to time. So yes depending on the online game, devs need to always make a offline playable edition if they decide to shut it down.
<Massive sales/lot of concurrent players>
This guy: "WHY ISN'T ANYONE THINKING ABOUT END OF SERVICE?!"
I agree with offline mode, Global Agenda was great too, I was making a snarky response but you grabbed my heart
Been gaming since 1989, you should think about things like this because for two reasons:
Nothing last forever ( depending on what it is ) and second, the track record of us spending money and time and effort on online games, then out of nowhere due to poor business decisions from the devs , the game player base goes down and eventually the game shuts down. You guys better be thinking about it lol.
Global Agenda was put back online a year ago :) People play it from time to time, i play solo its still fun. What i read a long time ago, the reason why the company put the game back online is for testing for Global Agenda 2.
But why asking this question here?
You have a lot of games where this is already a reality.
Just look at Anthem.
I love how people who have zero affiliation to a game are doing everything to discourage others too from playing it.
For example Inquisitor Martyr devs already stated a while back when everyone was complaining about always online requirement, that once the game support comes to an end, they will make it offline.
I haven't played any of my games for 3 months due to a new job. So i am focusing on other areas of my life. I'm just pointing out that when this game gets shut down in the "future", if they don't make a offline mode, this game will be gone forever and you guys will be complaining about a offline mode. I'm merely hoping the devs take heed to this, I'm telling them this for a reason, its very important, trust me.
How many chocolate bar(s) do you buy per month? And, how much did this game cost? Now do some math, and you'll realize this game is a bargain compared to the monthly cost(s) of an average gamer.
I never knew this, you have link/source to this information so i can read it?
Holy s***t, installing right now, the nostalgia oh god
