Solo Autocanons and recoilless rifles users. the flaws for team weapons
I know it's possible to reload auto-canons and recoil-less rifles by yourself, but i notice a lot of people soloing the auto-canon a lot. In fact most of my friends and squads i join never even think twice to bother or even discourage the idea of letting anyone else carry the backpack. Heck, i was even killed by a team mate because who didn't want me to carry his backpack for his canon.

I get it, the reload on the autocanon is not that bad when you solo it. i've done it before. it's hella fun to use, but i also want to reload faster so i can shoot more, but no one else wants to team up ever. Like whats the point of having team weapons if no one wants to work to work as a team? is it because of the low movement speed when they team up? are the people i'm working with just lone wolves? or are people just that paranoid or untrusting of others with their ammo?

What is it, folks. why or what reason do you have to not want others use your backpack ammo. what is your excuse?

EDIT: so far, i've read everyone's comments and even replied to some and got a better idea of my answer for this little plight. I do hope the bug issues with teaming up glitches get fixed soon so players who want to team up don't get bugged or glitched to the point they are left behind or can't even shoot.

I also understand there are trust issues with randoms. i mean, that's a no brainer and i get that, but PLEASE just ask in mic or use text chat to ask someone to take or drop the ammo pack. Communication is KEY in CO-OP games and are in the game for a reason. you'll just look like a jerk to someone who wanted to help (like me) by just shooting them with no reason explained (like the jackass who told me "it had to be done")

One fun tip i learned from Khloros is the autocannon is a full auto feature (it says autocannon, i know. shush, we're all learning as we go along) so it makes since there is 2 viable play styles for this weapon. Solo-semi fire mod, and Team Full-auto mod (when the team bugs get fixed)

Thanks so far for the info and tips. if anyone has more tips or info on how they play with these team weapons, don't hesitate to share.

Recoiless is much more useful with a teammate. Autocannon rarely needs a teammate imo.

I made a post related to this and it might explain why a lot of people don't cooperate very well with the recoilless rifle.

Pretty heated discussion though

from what I've experienced there isn't many engagements where I'll even need to reload the Auto cannon, it makes easy work of everything then I just swap to primary to finish clearing.

I think not having the ammo pack wouldn't be too great since you're constantly having to rely on someone else to stop what they're doing to rearm you when you need it though. There's nothing stopping them from dropping the pack for you to use on them in those moments where you want to rain hell on something though.

Autocannon is fine solo but the Recoil-less is where it's at with assisted reloads. Personally, the best duo I've seen is the rocket user has a supply pack, and the teammate has the rocket pack. You can get a LOT done with that combo, even against a lot of heavies.

Though, packing anti-armor stratagems is also helpful.

Most likely, the problem is that the recharge command does not work well and often bugs.
The charging animation simply does not work or works every other time, we tried to play like this with friends, but for 2 out of 4 people this charging method simply did not work, the animation did not work.

I don't let anyone carry my backpack for recoilless rifle unless I'm in a discord call with them. Randoms in quickplay just aren't dependable enough to consistently be close enough to me when reloads are really needed.

The few times that having random people reload or myself reloading for others always happened spontaneously in the middle of the chaos when we're picking up gear after a respawn and everyone is desperate to get rid of that bile titan.

I've found the grenadelauncher with a ammo pack to be pretty amazing for solo play mixed with a light armor with extra grenades & a primary Breacher.

The Recoilless profits greatly from the loader, the Autocannon not so much as long as you don't empty it. That's mostly why I have no issue running the autocannon solo but rarely ever run the RR alone.

When playing with my group I have to convince someone to basically be glued to me all the time with the RR, because in my experience I rarely employ it in a situation where we have time to coordinate the team reload and it's pretty difficult to do so when things get hectic because a charger just caused your group to split up.

So when I do run it, it's usually on my own and generally only against Automatons to drop dropships or destroy tanks/hulks/turrets a little quicker by firing at the weakspot.

I ran the RR much more in HD1 because it was a lot stronger, it really only took one shot for most things and since you couldn't split up as much the team reload was easier to pick up on for the other guy.

Solo recoilless is perfectly fine.

In the case of an emergency, a teammate can tell the Recoilless operator to drop their pack, or the Recoilless operator can tell someone to pick up their pack after they drop it. This has worked with random group members multiple times, so in a coordinated group it would be even easier.

If crayon-eating randoms can do it, it's not a problem.

i usually run the cannon solo unless we're defending something or not moving, then I drop the pack for a teammate so i can just blast bugs without worrying about ammo

I do not have a microphone nor people to play with so getting random people to collaborate seems like a chore. It is for this reason that I rarely bring the recoilless refile and more often bring the autocannon.

Wish you told that to the guy that killed me. He didn't even ask me to drop it. Just blew me up and said "it had to be done". XD

I think the team play with the recoil-less rifle can be improved. They should do it where if a dude has a recoil-less rifle and the back pack on then another dude can come up behind and assist with the loading ie grab the round out of the dudes backpack and load for him. That way you still get the benefit of team play but you aren't reliant on the same dude to run around right behind you the whole game.

I would also change it to where dude A has a recoil-less rifle and a backpack and dude B just has the back pack (as he called down his own). Dude B can still help dude A through reloading but takes rounds from his own backpack (dude B) first and only starts taking from dude A's (the guys firing) backpack once dude B has none left.

As someone who uses the recoilless, auto-cannon or spear pretty much every match, i think the reason is that it often takes a shorter amount of time to reload then to find the teammate carrying the backpack. (especially if they pick it up and don't stay close enough)

i always pick up the first backpack myself, and if someone wants to carry a second one they can.

also if someone does pick it up, i'm not going to team kill them or throw a hissy fit about it, i do hope they stay nearby though and don't run at the first moment some chaos happens. :CunningPepeRed:

I'd 100% let somebody carry the ammo for my AC but often I'm in scout armor and that's my heavy weapon "OH NO" button cause I'm off handling side objectives or giving radar pings on approaching enemy squads. Otherwise? Oh yeah take the ammo, heck I'll send another one down and we can both reload each other! I do not however think you should get used to solo reloading recoilless, chat exists and you can communicate with people to the best you can. Talk to people before missions (IF you aren't popping in mid mission) so you can coordinate with others.
