Pretty heated discussion though
I think not having the ammo pack wouldn't be too great since you're constantly having to rely on someone else to stop what they're doing to rearm you when you need it though. There's nothing stopping them from dropping the pack for you to use on them in those moments where you want to rain hell on something though.
Though, packing anti-armor stratagems is also helpful.
The charging animation simply does not work or works every other time, we tried to play like this with friends, but for 2 out of 4 people this charging method simply did not work, the animation did not work.
The few times that having random people reload or myself reloading for others always happened spontaneously in the middle of the chaos when we're picking up gear after a respawn and everyone is desperate to get rid of that bile titan.
When playing with my group I have to convince someone to basically be glued to me all the time with the RR, because in my experience I rarely employ it in a situation where we have time to coordinate the team reload and it's pretty difficult to do so when things get hectic because a charger just caused your group to split up.
So when I do run it, it's usually on my own and generally only against Automatons to drop dropships or destroy tanks/hulks/turrets a little quicker by firing at the weakspot.
I ran the RR much more in HD1 because it was a lot stronger, it really only took one shot for most things and since you couldn't split up as much the team reload was easier to pick up on for the other guy.
In the case of an emergency, a teammate can tell the Recoilless operator to drop their pack, or the Recoilless operator can tell someone to pick up their pack after they drop it. This has worked with random group members multiple times, so in a coordinated group it would be even easier.
If crayon-eating randoms can do it, it's not a problem.
Wish you told that to the guy that killed me. He didn't even ask me to drop it. Just blew me up and said "it had to be done". XD
I would also change it to where dude A has a recoil-less rifle and a backpack and dude B just has the back pack (as he called down his own). Dude B can still help dude A through reloading but takes rounds from his own backpack (dude B) first and only starts taking from dude A's (the guys firing) backpack once dude B has none left.
i always pick up the first backpack myself, and if someone wants to carry a second one they can.
also if someone does pick it up, i'm not going to team kill them or throw a hissy fit about it, i do hope they stay nearby though and don't run at the first moment some chaos happens.
